Nadarr sticks his staff into the water and tries to see what the items are

The water reflects the light from your staff and it lights up the room. You see a pickaxe, a backpack and a few other odds and ends, but most of which is destroyed clothing

You dive in after draining about 4ft of water total. You would have to reopen the bags to leave (17+1) You swim in and grab the pick and the bag. You're temporarily paralyzed as you literally see a ghost appear from the skeleton's body.

"You who holds my pick, take what is left of my drowned remains and my pick and I shall reward you with knowledge of this place and its secrets. I am known as Toady One, and I was here when the fortress was first founded. You will know my grave when you find it."

The ghost disappears, but you lost your move action. Do you pick up the remains?

((It was completely ridiculous, I admit. First thing that happens in Necrothreat is that Toady One (we modded the hell outta the game and even made dwarves "forumites" so there was a title "site founder" instead of expedition leader) dies due to me dealing poorly with aquifers. It was the start of a bloody and gruesome succession fortress.

Also, this is what I mean by utilizing the 'first come, first serve' rule. You can see that for the past page or so, it was all exchanges between highmax and Th4DwArfY1. It's like Alexander just stood there laughing at the whole thing, when in reality, he's a capable swimmer and could probably pull out Karl on his own even without the bag of holding. You'd think that some of these characters just disappeared from existence the moment their players logged offline.))

The pick is mundane, but it seems to be made out of a metal that doesn't rust. You gotta admire the fine craftsdwarfship done to it, as it seems it never was in the water to begin with. The bag isn't magical either, and inside of it is the remains of food, very old dwarven wine and other alcohol, and lastly, the bag holds the remains. You feel discouraged as there is no gold or gems in the bag. Thoradin takes the alcohol and takes sips of each to see how good it is. Each sip is met with a grin of approval.

"Ya have to give credit to the alcohol makers; they make this stuff to last."

He takes one of the casks and fills his flagon of ale procurement and chugs it. (?) He takes it like a champ but the strength of it almost knocks him on his rear end.

"Toady One!? That bastard was TOADY ONE!? He was one ov the seven founders of this place and died YEARS before I was even thought of. They say he died during a cave in disaster when they tried to deal with an aquifer. Ye'll notice it when we go downstairs that the walls are damp but sturdy. They made a tomb for him in the lower levels, but... How on earth did they not retrieve his body? Also, did ya check the door? Maybe ye can fly across and open it?"
