Karl smirks. "For a soldier, a greatsword is overcompensation. A longsword is simply showing off."

((I'm assuming this is a new encounter?))
((Yeah, I needed an excuse to:
a) fix the damn initiative order; and
b) Get Mastacheese and Grot up to snuff, you may need it))

Jee wilikers, I think Highmax is near invulnerable, must have been dunked in the river styx like achilles was.

((So do we get our encounter powers back?))
((That you do, since I can't do like a multi-stage encounter and slap you guys for it. I may eventually change that, but not when you guys are level 2))

Posting to watch. I was kind of bored this weekend, so I read the entire 95 and a bit pages up to this point.

Could you add me to the waitlist? Me and my friends have just started playing D&D, so I'd like to get some experience playing with someone who actually knows what they're doing.

((I'm a starting DM, and a lot of my friends say I'm horrible at it, but I try. Consider yourself waitlisted! And I hope you enjoy the view until you're thrown into the fray, cause it only goes downhill from here! :P

(I'll send you a PM once I go find the book to look them up...
Are there any that give me more/better teleports?)

((Sorry it took so long, but my template had a few too many errors from a lot of data being unupdated, so I had to fix all that on top of a few other things. Now, initiative order should go quickly and the combat should go much smoother (on my end). Now, let us begin the encounter you've waited more then a day for.

Also, this counts as a milestone, so you all have an extra action point (even though you can only use 1 per encounter) and one extra daily item power (though I don't think anyone used theirs yet)))

Everyone second winds during the time that they retreated and returned. ((Because I lost all that data on your current HP when I realized half of my data was wrong and not many were wounded outside of Symon, Karl and Archuther))

Aurel begins the encounter. Bouchart's once strange and rather sinister and creepy face is now disfigured, revealing that his head is still, indeed, split open. You can't tell if this is necromancy or a well done illusion. You also feel a little uneasy looking at his face from the dark look upon it alone, and you swear you can see brain tissue through the gaping wound.

Move Action: Southwest of Grot
Standard Action: Dark Beckoning on SB
Minor Action: Beguiling Flash on SB

"Please, Bouchart, there is no need of this. We'll buy you three horses if you want to feast on them. Just lower your weapons and let's talk this out."

"Please, Bouchart, there is no need of this. We'll buy you three horses if you want to feast on them. Just lower your weapons and let's talk this out."
(13+8) you move up and pull Bouchart towards you! You deal (3+9) damage and pull him closer to you. You then slide him back where you found him.

Shadow Bouchart begins his turn.

"You see, Aurel, when I died, the shadow found me. And now, not only do I wish to kill your mounts, but you and the others as well! You will all serve the Dark One! Now gaze upon the power that was given to me!"

He then aims his shadow crossbow at you. The cruel looking serrated bolt placed inside of it and the thick bow string makes you realize this is going to hurt a lot. The bolt digs deep into your right upper leg. Your guess was right, the blade shreds your flesh, dealing (6) damage. You realise now that Bouchart is right up in your face. He then swings his blade at you. The blade narrowly misses you. He then sees the new guy's reindeer. He runs THROUGH Aurel, Grot, Karl and Weston. You all feel sick to your stomach as he does so, but Grot and Weston feel a slash shred their flesh as he goes by. You realize that he slashed all of you, but missed/couldn't pierce the armor of Aurel and Karl. Weston and Grot take (7) damage! He drops an action point and slashes at Weston's eyes! He hits, and Weston is now blind (save ends) and takes (5) damage!

Bouchart laughs like a madman, and you all realize his voice is fell and terrible and sends chills down your spines... Or perhaps its the laugh alone since you never heard him laugh before. You all realise he's eyeing the new guy's reindeer.

"Do you not see!? The darkness has made me stronger!"

Symon begins his turn.
