You check the blood splatters (19+6) and notice it to be differnet then your own blood. You assume it to be dwarf blood, as you can smell very faintly, the smell of alcohol... Specifically, dwarven ale.

Symon tries to determine what direction the person who was wounded went off to.
(3+6) Your tracking skills seem to suffer a little bit. You can't tell which way the blood goes.

Symon hesitates and waits for the others to catch up, listening intently for any more noises.

archuther tries to hunt said killer
(22)You see the blood and you attempt to find the trail. You see it goes away a bit, but you also realize that this wasn't made by weapon; no, this is done by an animal. It is also about a day or two old, so the trail is rather cold. You also tell that they passed the tree after, as there is a little hint of blood in the scrapings. You follow the trail and go down the path on the middle right path. You follow the trail farther until you reach another cave, where slashes of claws mark the walls along with something you think is very familiar. You expect nids, but no evidence of them are on this planet. Going into the cave, it is dark, but you see bones littering the floor, about a day old with some flesh still on them. They appeared to have been heavily bearded and short for humans along with bodies you cannot tell what they are. You then hear something moving deeper in the cave, and then growling. It appears, you have found the "killer"

A dire bear appears from the end of the cave!

Weston ran towards the loud noises.
You run before the initiative order starts and make it just outside the cave and watch as Archuther wrestles a dire bear single-handedly.

((I still haven't gotten level 2 utilities and feats for some of you. Bouchart and Symon, I need them before your turns in the bear encounter.))

The bear begins his turn!
He moves up and mauls Archuther! He misses on the first attack and his claw swings again and hits! He deals (12) damage!

((Oh god...))
Symon begins his turn!

((You're off screen, it will take 30 spaces to get to the cave and another 5 squares to get to the bear. may want to start running after you send me your character info))
