Go below and ((Perception check!)) Have a look around.

You see lots of gold scattered amongst the floor in one pile with some odds and ends in the mix. You also see a large pile of fecal matter in the other side. (19+3) you can tell some of these odds and ends are magical. But there is one that strikes your eye and it is in the pile of poop (it appears to be an orb of some sort). Otherwise, magically wise, you see a flint and steel, a bedroll, a backpack, and a knife that looks as if a noble would carry it (a widow's knife).

Symon goes down the stairs as well.
