"I'd presume they either crossed the Shadow Thieves, angered a member of the council or a local noble.Either way,i propose we move on from this scene, lest we be incriminated pointlessly."

Stop by the heads and offer a short prayer for each of them.

After he finishes his prayers, Karl looks around warily.

"Indeed, sticking a head on a pike is meant as a brutal warning. Let us be wary, their killers could be watching us."

You say your prayers for the dead and then follow the others.

"We must hurry. Whatever did this extracted pleasure in it. See how the heads are on spikes? The farther away we are, the better. I do not want to see what could best three men."
You start to go down the path.

You go down for a few minutes, the trip goes rather smoothly. After a few minutes of nothing really to see, you find yourselves surrounded by goblins from the treeline. Ambush!

Enter the shadows and put a dagger through the ranged goblins' backs (if there are ranged ones. Otherwise the farthest away)

Draw sword and shield and charge the nearest melee enemy with Enfeebling Strike.

On sighting the goblins, Karl's face becomes a mask of rage as he draws sword and readies his shield.

Goblins! Make your peace, the Raven Queen calls for you!" he roars in Goblin-tongue.

So how does this work?  I can choose to start at any one of the circled locations?  If so I'll stand at C9 and draw my crossbow.

((Locate yourself around the cart, and no; those are where the enemies are. Red will be the enemy, blue will be players, and later, green will be NPCs. Oh, btw: I subscribed to D&D insider, so now I can make this more manageable, provided I can get better images, etc...))
