It is now evening.

People are starting to fill the tavern now and the streets are dying down. The players know they are all meeting up with this "Olon" person and are a little open that they are meeting him. No man in black has arrived yet.

You start to notice a red mist coming in after a halfing seems to walk towards the area. No one else seems to notice it since its so faint.

(?) You can't seem to see the source but the mist suddenly becomes thick enough that you cannot see much excluding shapes. It dies down after a few seconds and a man in black robes stand before the tavern. His robes reveal only a smug grin.

Everyone sees him and he chuckles a little bit. No one else seems to noticed the red mist, since no one is outside save the players and him. He then walks over by Aurel, Symon and (Th4DwArfY1) while gesturing the others to come over to him.

He chuckles more. There's a faint taint of something foul on him (and not the smell). Something about him makes you feel really uneasy. He glances at your holy symbol and his face turns a little sour but returns to the smug grin after a second.

"You must be Symon. I am Olon Rotlaw, a messenger for my master. Servant of Bahamut, I graciously welcome you." He looks at Aurel and ?? and bows. "And you two have arrived as well Dragonborn and Vr-" he pauses for a second. "Human nobles. Let us have the others join us before we talk business."

"Greetings to you too good Halfling. Bouchart if I recall?" He bows to you as well.

"Now, here's the job for you. My master has had something stolen from him by a member of the Shadow Thieves. While the member has not been seen for some time after the theft, he has found him hold up at an abandoned fortress built into the hills south from here at the base of the starspire mountains. It is a thirteen day trek, and following the road will have you pass three cities. My master has vouched to give you each twenty five days of trail rations for the trip along with some extra.

Now the object you are looking for is a solid gold ring with markings in elvish on it. It has two names inscribed on it. It was a wedding ring which became a family heirloom to my master, and it is very dear to him. Now the pay, the one thing most of you been waiting for. You are welcome to take anything else you find within the fortress, since it is abandoned for quite some time; some even say forgotten. There is a 100 gold paid up front for the inns on the towns along the way as well as some extra spending money for any other supplies you might need. I recommend you bring some torches, climbers kits and extra rope. After all, the place has been forgotten for who knows how long?

There is a horse and cart that will be under my name at the stables at the western gate that I told the stableman you can use to haul anything heavy you may need from the way back. If either of them are damaged, there is a fine of 40 gold from each of you for the horse and 100 gold from each of you for the wagon... Please be careful of them if you take them. If you are thinking there is nothing to be gained from the fortress, think again. I have read tales that the place was once filled with wealth, only to have been plagued by a disaster. Since no roads led to it, it remained forgotten. Some men speak that there are piles of gold like a dragon's hoard while others say that the masterwork equipment they house was the true treasure.
