((Eh, I actually meant what I said. In life, Symon was a devout Avenger of Bahamut. In undeath/shadow-life, he'd probably switch worship to Tiamat, Bahamut's direct opposite.

Also, I'm going to be sad if Weston dies without ever being able to take an action.))

Karl looks at the cavern and the tunnel and nods towards the tunnel. In a whisper, he says "I don't fancy meeting the owner of those claws with just the two of us. Let's remember this place and follow the tunnel instead, perhaps it leads past that gate and back towards our friends."

Karl heads into the tunnel, keeping a wary eye out for danger.
You head into the tunnel with Alexander. It turns and turns, but not in the direction towards the gate. Eventually, you reach another cavern, but you're overlooking a lake and lots of glowing mushrooms. Alexander feels something overtake him for a second and then leave as fast as it came, giving the image of some grotesque creature that is serpentlike and buried halfway through the ground and bears feathers and wings, despite tunneling. You get a large headace, but on a quick glance, you notice that the water is very deep but clear.

((Gee, thanks DM. Don't even give me a chance to post an action.))

Weston barely had time for a surprised shout before Symon was dead and the spider was upon him. The world turned to black soon afterwards.

Tell Karl of what I expect to be in the lake.

"How about we just keep moving?"

Nadarr shouts at the newcomer: Hold that accursed thing back from me!

He then goes to Weston's body and tries to make him drink a potion, muttering all the time that maybe Aurel had something with his stuff-a-potion down the throat approach. He uses Burning Hands on the spider if he gets the chance.

Karl glances at the water distrustfully and nods at Alexander's whispered words. "We need to see if there is another way out of here, otherwise we'll have to turn back and try the first cave."

Staying well away from the water, look around cautiously for other tunnels leading away from this cave.

((Yeah, I got to that, I posted to keep following the wall))
You and Thoradin go along the walls, maintaining your stealth. You eventually come across several holes in the ground and tunnels against the wall that lead in multiple directions. There are five you can go from, the closest to you being from the right side of them, and the farthest away is 50ft away (10 squares). Thoradin begins sniffing and says he smells smoke, although you don't smell a thing. He says if you give him a bit of time, he can find out which way it is.

Karl glances at the water distrustfully and nods at Alexander's whispered words. "We need to see if there is another way out of here, otherwise we'll have to turn back and try the first cave."

Staying well away from the water, look around cautiously for other tunnels leading away from this cave.
You keep to the walls, as the lake extends well out. As you start to curve towards the wall, the land gets thinner and thinner. (?) The ground states to quake almost violently and the earth shifts a bit. Only Cromwell and Thoradin notice it, and only VERY slightly, like the sound that runs through you ear when you force inside pressure on your head, like a faint shaking sound that if it wasn't for a rock falling off the side, you swore you imagined it. Karl and Alexander try to maintain balance! (2+3) (19-3) Alexaner starts to tumble over! Karl (?) instinctively tries to grab hold of him! (6+6) You JUST manage to grab him! Luckily, you maintain balence and try to get him back up (3+3) Your strength wavers for a second and Alexander tumbles down the edge into the water. (18+9) You swim back up quickly and realize the water is REALLY deep. The sound of your splash is still echoing as you get back up, and its loud. You get back onto land quickly and wait for a moment or two to catch your breath. The quake is gone now, but you start to notice with your darkvision that something is moving in the water towards you. Its long slender body moves like a snake along the water but moves quicker in the water then you can move on land without sprinting. After a second look, its not only large, but theres at least three of them heading this way.

Meanwhile...

((And hey, this squishy wizard has lasted as long as the huge Paladin, thank you very much :P))
You force a potion down Weston's throat, taking a standard action. At your shout, the spider turns towards you.

The undead Blade Spider claws at Nadarr! He hits and deals (7) damage and poisoning/slowing you and then swings again, the second blade cutting into your flesh and dealing another (12) damage! You are in critical condition at 6hp!

Weston takes his turn, takes 5 damage, leaving him at 5hp and is underneath the blade spider and sees its grotesque insides which are either missing or ripped apart, with scorch marks all over its exoskeleton

((Come on Weston! Show the world how big of a striker you are!))

((You mean...not a very good one?))

Chromatic Orb right to the ugly bastard's thorax!
"This is for Symon."
((The big arse chaos bolt bounce-a-thon?))

You channel your power and the spider doesn't realize that you're doing so, despite the fact you're quick to cast spells. (16+6) You just manage to hit, as the (1) yellow colored orb strikes him dead in the underside! You deal (7+8+8+7+1) radiant damage! It hisses and screeches in agony as it burns its body with the radiant power! He's now in critical condition! He hisses and screeches and takes a step back and is almost in the inferno!

The new arrival begins his turn!

((I forgot this because I didn't realise he marked it, but...))

The newcomer teleports next to the spider and swings his bastard sword at it! (15+10) He hits, cutting deep into its exoskeleton and dealing (10+5) damage!

Meanwhile...

"Three of them coming, Karl!! We can't run on this wall!"

Pull out equipment
You draw your weapons and prepare to fight!

Alexander wins initiative and begins his turn! ((A reminder you both took 20 damage from the fall, though neither of you are bloodied))

((So....does that make it my turn? If so...))

Nadarr drinks a potion of healing!

He then leans on his staff with one hand as he heals, and splays the other outwards, facing the spider.

Go back to the dark from whence you came!

He uses Erupting Flare with his Fire Orb!
