The one you linked to, Highmax, took one look at 64-bit Windows 7 and said 'nope, don't feel like working'.

If any of you have any issues with setting up the Character Builder, send me a message describing the nature of your problem and what you've done so far to try and fix it and I'll see what I can do.

I went through the character builder and didn't see any Dark Sun theme.  Anyone else have this problem?

Its gotta be updated. Theres an html code that adds in the updates. I don't know if it will work after its been installed, but heres a link to my files in the character builder. It doesn't have the appdata files, so I don't know how it'll work.

Tried this, and I can't get it started.  It gives an error stating you should contact WotC customer service and then shuts down.
I tried this both before and after I uninstalled the old character builder, same results.

Other then that "contact support" are you guys running CharacterBuilder.exe or CBLoader.exe?
\You will always use CBLoader once everything is installed

When I ran CharacterBuilder.exe it gave me the contact support error.

Running CBLoader.exe gives me this error:

Note that this is using the link you provided in the spoiler above.  When I downloaded the program you provided in the links on the first page, the program worked, except didn't have anything from Dark Sun.

At this point I think I'll wait for Sirus if he has some easier tool to use, rather than mess around with this. I'm not in much of a hurry to get started.

I'm getting that problem on mine now but it would still have dark sun. I don't know why it isn't showing...

Luck! I found the D&D 4e builder I've used a couple of times.

Fair warning: it is a little* obtuse, but it works pretty well as long as you follow the steps and keep the handbooks nearby for reference (as the builder includes no information on things such as the effects of your powers or what sort of traits the different races have). It uses a large amount of Javascript and apparently has a hard time working on Chrome or Opera sometimes. Sorry!

You can save it as a PDF or text file if you wish. The website doesn't store any sheets.

Now, if you want sheets to be online and easy to access, try Mythweavers. I have an account there, and while they don't have character generators they do save sheets.

Excellent. May be a problem for new players, but I'll figure it out when the time comes....

Or I may just leave them at level 1 and be mean, but I doubt I'll do that
