Elder Scrolls: Where else but Elsweyr? (Suggestion Game RPG)

4E 202, A breezy evening a couple days outside of the city of Dune

4 days of travel is no joke. From carriage to carriage to carriage, only stopping to wait out a sand storm or empty a few bladders every now and again. This last stretch of the journey had been a hell of a long one and the chance to stretch your legs and get out of the suffocating heat of a covered wagon before the final leg was worth more than gold to you. Even if it was at a trashy little tent in the middle of nowhere. As you hop off the wooden platform you get a better look, having only woken up a few minutes ago.

A nasty thatch tent thrown together with thin leather and wooden poles sunk deep into the sand. I looked like it was holding up against the wind pretty well, if failing at keeping much of the sand out. Torches hung from the larger poles toss orange light around on the roughly dyed walls. A smooth, unpolished wooden bar sits in the middle with a shirtless kajiiti tender behind it and in front of a number of barrels with taps and crates, leaning against the worn bars counter, tapping claws on the surface, looking bored. The kajiits was black and white with quite a bit of salt and pepper in his darker bits and large jowls, still sporting rather large arms with veins able to be seen under the thin fur. A hairless scar on his forehead looks pretty nasty.

You hop out of the back of the carriage and walk over, your feet sinking in the sand. You curse the stuff. Still not user to walking through the drek. You lower the hood of your travelers abaya and watch as the kajiit begins to smile, revealing many teeth.

In a voice that seems to boom over the breeze in the tent but still carrying the scratchy note of age the Kajiit welcomes you in that so common accent "Welcome to the finest tavern for many miles around friend, The Blue Guar! You will find no substitute, I think. What canna' get ya? We just got a crate a flin in, or if yer looking ta taste some of the local brew we have, moon liqueur, A personal favorite." He pauses for a moment inhaling deeply. "Ahh. What fine luck I have. I do always appreciate meeting outlanders! Such fine stories! And such a busy night," gesticulating to the only other patron at the end of the bar, whom you seem to have not seen upon entering. "Now please, sit down an be my guest."

You reply with "Just an ale, please." With a dry throat and a mild perturbance at hearing the same speech about a thousand and one times from every Kajiiti in this land you have met thus far as well as the inability to read their voices for sarcasm. everything feels like a swindle.

The tender raises an eyebrow and brings up a large wooden tankard with little foam on the surface of the amber liquid moments later, a couple grains of sand rolling around in the carbonation. "A fine choice my friend. My name is Gaviira the Unclanned. But my story is a boring one. Tell me a bit about yourself an what yer business is in Elsweyr..."

Commutation

I believe you mean conjuration.

I'll wait on a couple more suggestions if you don't mind and if we don't get anything for a day or so, we'll just kick her off.

Also gonna need a name there, pal.

Restoration
Acrobatics
Concealment
Alchemy
Security
Hand-to-Hand

"Well as you can clearly see, I'm an Orc. Name's Kalia. Not a very Orcish name, eh? You see, I was an orphan; Don't know what happened to my parents, but a sweet old couple of Altmer refugees came one day to the orphanage and raised me as their own. Write to them every week, I do."

"Father was a healer and he taught me his trade. Alchemy and Restoration were what he knew and he had me go over the spells and ingredients every day...I'll tell you what: its boring. Very boring. I mean really: why ought I care about what an ash yam can do? Or grass?"

"As you might imagine, I spent quite a bit of my time on the streets. Not during the times I was supposed to be studying of course. No, I'm a good girl I am. Joined up with a small-time gang. Not a bad group; all they did was run a racket and blackmail a few people here and there. Taught me quite a few things they did. Taught me how fight Hand-to-Hand or Conceal myself from the guards. Even told me how to Pick a lock. Very useful skill from what I've learned. I even learned how to get around the city back home by climb'in and grappling loose stones. Friends said I ought to be an Acrobat. Fun times."

"Of course, I'm clean now. Nope, haven't been running on the streets for years. Not since I became a professional alchemist. Nope, completely clean. In fact, I was requested to come down here by a noble...Omar...Ka...I can't really pronounce the rest. Didn't say why he needed me but he promised to pay well. Suffice to say, I expect to leave the country the moment I'm done with this job."

"Hm yess. Kaila isn't much of an orc name. Not enough silly noises. Definitely mer tongue. And it sounds like you will fit in in this land, yet. I'd suggest pickin' up something' to cover up with thicker than that little cloth robe, lest ya get stabbed in the gut."

A cleared throat further down that bar catches both of your attention. The other patron signals the tender with a gloved hand. Weird... You can't even see the persons face and yet they seem so... interesting. You can't explain it. The hooded figure wears a simple dark cloak from head to toe with leather gloves. The wind twists the robe and time seems to slow down as you take in the whole scene.

The bartender walks slowly over, asking something you cannot hear and nodding to a similar reply. As he returns the the patron lowers his hood revealing a particularly handsome male orc. The ridges of his eyebrows are particularly, sharp and crested with white bone. A bone ring worms it's way through his septum and a second one sits on the ridge of his large nose. teeth stick out, chipped but glowing with a golden hue in the orange light. He offers as much of a smile as an orc can before the bartender catches you off guard.

"For the lass, compliments of the gentleman at the corner of the bar." The kajiit pours a thin opaque liquid into a little redware shot glass, emptying the small bottle it came in. "A fine moon liqueur. I do envy you, miss."

As you look at the little glass, you can't help but feel a little cautious, but that emotion quickly gives way to a sense of ease and you grab the glass and down it, making a face at the cloying sweet taste coupled with the bitterness. You offer a giggle as the patron laughs. You feel so warm and lovely and... heavy... IT feels like you have been talking for hours. Like you have known everyone here your whole life.

You never hear the gentleman speak but you know that he has offered for you to go to his estate and of course you accept, after all, he would never hurt you he loves you. As he leads you round back of the tent, a large lizard tied to a pole bays as he approaches, allowing him and you to mount. This is so wonderful, you only wish you could stay awake and experience the whole ride there, but you are just took tiiired...

... "Stupid orc wench"...

...

... "She will make a fine thrall, don't you agree?"...

... -Crash!- "Halt! Meridia commands it!"...

...

...

Your eyes flutter open.

Your vision is blocked by something and you feel very numb. Like you whole body is pins and needles. You can see light, but through  a veil. As you bring you hand up to try and remove it, you realize it is bound to your side. Both are. You are completely bound up, head to toe! You twist and convulse around falling from whatever platform you were on before in a wild panic, managing to awaken the rest of your body and tear your left arm free. Next comes your face as you claw at the wrap over your whole head with your left hand.

You look around, finding yourself in what appears to be a small sandstone room lit by candle light. Scorchmarks coat the walls and cloth wraps sit in a shelf against the far wall with some instruments to cut, sew, and mend and a few unknown ones to you. A few black books sit on the shelf as well.

CORPSE PREPERATION IV
CORPSE PREPERATION III
THE ART OF SOUL BINDING

The titles send you into a second frenzy ripping your right arm free and making a scrawling shuffle over to the tools slicing your way out the rest of the way.

You stand on shaky legs in a cramped sandstone room, noticing that you are naked, save for rags, and are covered in strange sigils drawn onto your skin. The table you fell off of has a couple of burnt books, an iron dagger, a candle, and note that looks partially scorched.

Your only exit is to the south, leading to a T shaped hallway. You can't see light coming from either direction.

What do you do?

-SNIP-

Looks great. But, ninja'd. Sorry. I hope you will remain interested and still stick around with us.

I thought kaila was appealing, because of her whole monk aspect, but she is going to have a difficult time without armor or a weapon. Should be interesting. I can't wait to see what happens.

Also sorry for the railroading, but, I hope it will be a good welcome to our wonderful setting.

+1 to this, Glad to see an ES RP game going on. I suggest we use our Restoration on ourself to heal if we are hurt. Then do what escaped lurker suggested but try to Conceal ourself in the shadows as we creap along.

Before you move to grab anything your fathers lessons creep into your head and a sense of peace washes over you as a warm amber feeling washes over you and you feel a little less focused. You don't have any obvious injuries, but you are starting to feel that rubbery, numb feeling of post healing in where some of the sigils are. It occurs to you with a feeling of cold violation. These are tattoos.

You snatch the dagger up and grab the piece of paper, bringing it closer to the light, to help you decide what is ink and what is ash. It reads as follows.

You have to love Gaviira. Never asks questions if you grease his palms enough. I got another thrall a few weeks ago, this time an orc woman. These outlanders ar- Burnt little hole- ight so it's pretty easy. And that mixture you keep whipping up knocks them out for weeks. I had to use the whole vial on the orc though. More meat than the little bos-singed bit-r I nabbed a couple months ago.

I have to mention, I am having trouble breaking this one. It's like something is holding me back. I'm going to try a different approach. Expect her sent to you in another week or two. Are you still mining at Vor---charred--- you move on to the next node?

L

You drop the note and brandish the dagger, realizing fast, when it feels odd in your hand, that you are more confident with just your two hands. You slide your dagger into the waistband of one of your rags and peek around the corner.

It's dark, but that isn't exactly a bad thing. You shy away from the light of the candle, your shadow only casting for a second. You can't make out all of the objects in the room but you see the floor is littered with blackened bones and there are a couple of barrels, with ash along the wooden siding. What appears to be a table stands off to the far side with objects on it. There is an exit to the east and the hallway continues to the west leading to what appears to be a turn, with slivers of light cast on the wall.
