Even if you found a suitable opening, I doubt it would prove all too satisfying. And it might leave some nasty wounds, depending on the moral high ground's geology.
Location subject to periodic change.
Baffler likes silver, walnut trees, the color green, tanzanite, and dogs for their loyalty. When possible he prefers to consume beef, iced tea, and cornbread. He absolutely detests ticks.

Careful not to get too close, she watches how it weaves the strands between the two plants. She quietly speaks to Zanzetkuken, "Hey, have you seen this type of spider before? We don't get spiders that big where I come from."

"Oh, hey, one of the giant spiders, or, as I like to call them," Zanzetkuken said as he raised, aimed, and fired his crossbow, striking the spider dead.  "Target practice," he continued, lowering the bow and returning to tending to the plants.

(How many arachnophobes do we have here? I just compared the sizes of an ordinary non-giant cave spider, the kind that fortress cats love to eat, to a brown recluse.)

Necrisha raises an eyebrow at Zanzetkuken, "you do realize that one's big enough to handle mice and small lizards in addition to the usual insects spiders eat."
She touches one of the thicker strands of the web. "Shame so many people are terrified of spiders when they're actually quite beneficial to have around. Especially if you get a big orb weaver by the entrance to a house. I wish I knew if it was silk weaver."

((Man, sounds like introducing the GCS is going to be a REAL hoot! heh.))

EDIT: Keas restricted to tropical forests where they belong.  Those evil, EVIL, foul little things.

Edit: The baby murderer became a friend of the fortress, which started a loyalty cascade, and now most of the squad is dead.

"Two factors influence my decision on that.  One, I don't want to forget it was there and look up only for it to be in my face.  I tend to flip out when that happens.  The second is more mundane: this world is apparently dwarf fortress, therefore, it is safe to assume that all wildlife wants to kill you in some way, and I'd rather not take the chance that a given individual wouldn't."

(Rather a paranoid stereotype of the game, I think. No one's ever been killed by (vanilla) vermin. Except Boatmurdered. But that was hardly direct.)

((You would be surprised how many of my forts have been ended by vermin. Normally it is because the miasma causes a tantrum spiral but I have had corpses of vermin prevent important things from being done.))

"You are forgetting that we tested if we were in a reanimating biome quite often, and nothing came up, and the fact that Toady was already having the infinite reanimation fixed in the next release that was expected."

(Aren't ZTG and Nechrisa alone in the garden, while ICBM is looking for something to write on?)

(But again, it's not direct. The vermin don't murder your fort people, their own stupidity and uncleanliness does.)

((Just a question but are we as the characters allowed to allude to possible events to come? Like see something in the distance but be very vauge so the GM still decides what it is? Or should we wait for the GM to make that stuff happen? Or at least pm the GM first?))

(Allude to future events, but do not specify how close they are in order for the GM to cohesively combine them into a plot.)
