Zanzetkuken walks through the main hall, since the commotion outside began to die down.  He heard a few people mentioning the various foodstuffs, and said in passing, "Don't forget we only have longland grass, pig tails, wild strawberries, and whatever we can scrounge off the villagers, IC.  Stop thinking gourmet."

"So look for strawberries, and/or speculate whether I can remember a 13th century design for bellows I tried to do a painting of as a teenager."

Necrisha considered leaving just then, but turns back toward Zanzetkuken, "got any examples of longland grass and pigtails handy?"

"Yes, over where we are farming them.  Follow me."  Zanzetkuken proceeded to walk towards the small farm.

Necrisha follows carefully, picking her way around any sharp stones or ever-geen needles. I should probably see about getting shoes at some point.

"So, how long have you guys been here?

"Alright, I'm gonna go check on those rooms."

Leaving the group, Baffler headed down to the dormitory hallway, checking each door for an engraved name (or lack thereof.) Coming finally to a door with no name, he pushed it open. The door hadn't been used in awhile, and opened with some difficulty. The room inside was dark, and the walls were a bit rough, but at least it was furnished. A wooden bed sat in one corner. At the foot of the bed was a stone coffer, and a cabinet sat on the opposite wall, both of his own making. Near the middle of the room was a simple table, and two chairs.

Leaving the door open, Baffler began checking the room over, making sure nobody had left anything inside.

"As far as I know, nobody's been counting.  It's been long enough that the locals have begun to pick up on English.  We've been trying to learn their language, but they're learning ours faster.  Must be because having knowledge of multiple languages is a survival skill."

Kari frowns.

"You know, ICBM, you dont have to mention my hobby of seducing trees for elf-wares to everyone we meet. You already have all the villagers referring to me as the tree humping hippie, despite the fact they dont know what that means."

She storms off after the newcomer to both try and calm her self and help the only other female occupant of this crazy house acclimatise to her new surroundings.

After catching up.

"We've been here at least two seasons, i think." Kari says, going off of her Elven nature abilities. "Although, as Zan says, noone is quite sure."

"So, what are you good at?" Kari asks, curious, after some time walking.

"So now it's a hobby, I thought you didn't want to seduce trees."

"That would make sense, especially if they know more than one language to begin with. Wait there's locals nearby?"

"yeah, be pretty hard if you don't know enough to determine how long a year is. As far as what I'm good at; well I consider myself an artist who's done a lot with paint so that translate best to glazing I guess? One of the great family pastimes were fishing, and I still remember the trick to remove the extra bones from northern pike. Other than that, I know a fair amount of what's edible in the region I cam from, but all that means here is I can identify wild strawberries."

Necrisha thinks for a moment, "I guess I'm adequate at the basics of wound dressing. I know first aid, and I'm ok at swimming.

"Who decided that it was a good idea to make a furnace out of wood?"

Zanzetkuken gave an exasperated sigh.  "Wood burning furnace, not a furnace made of wood.  You know, where you get ash and charcoal from."

Satisfied, Baffler seeks out the rest of the group, finding them walking through the corridor.

"Glad to hear someone here has first aid skills, and the locals show up to trade every once in awhile. Most of them speak English well enough, but they're hard to understand sometimes. You just missed them, funny enough. Anyway, it turns out we do have an empty room. There's no lights in there right now, but it's clean and spacious."
