Zanzetkuken opens the door, and, without a word, takes the bags.  He looks at a couple of the mechanisms, before returning them to their respective bag.  "I see you managed to get a few I specifically needed for the mechanism to work properly, which I had only found I needed after I began thinking through the mechanism.  Thanks."  With that said, he placed the two bags on the table, after closing the door, near where he had written in the events that had recently occurred.  It would prove beneficial later if he began making a list of the people who owed him something, or had a secret he was keeping.  Knowledge is the most powerful form of influence.

(No, writing down the events was not in response to mental warping.  Stuff passes through my memory horrendously easily, and something of importance, such as knowing who has knowledge of that back cave, possible mental disorders, and strange behavior I would not trust just my memory with.)

(Damn guys, I go one day without checking this and three pages get added on!)

"Yeah, I'm sure. Just set them down on the ground there with the rest."

Baffler said, gesturing vaguely toward the small pile of logs next to the cave entrance. The group had come a long way since that first week, and so had he, but there was still a lot more to be done. Baffler watched the two villagers hoist the logs off of the cart and onto the stockpile. It was getting late, and he didn't want to miss the whole celebration. Though he probably shouldn't have thrown his mug at the wall... but the work here had to be done, and it was better done sober(ish.) Baffler climbed onto the cart to help the villagers remove the logs. In the morning it would be back to being Baffler the Mason, making rock doors, tables, blocks, or whatever else. But he was the Baffler the Broker for today, and he wanted to get at least a little loafing around and drinking in.

Even if you found a suitable opening, I doubt it would prove all too satisfying. And it might leave some nasty wounds, depending on the moral high ground's geology.

(I have a feeling that perhaps the villagers "outsourced" some odd jobs to the settlement, given the apparently unnatural speed at which some tasks can be accomplished. This would help explain the drinks.)

"Hi, welcome to boatmurdered"

Necrisha lands on the ground hard. Her butt hits first but the momentum swings her legs up, and her arms flail out trying to balance as her head nearly hits the ground. managing to right herself into a sitting position she glares at the individual who spoke to her,

"You'd better be joking!" After a second she replies, "Seriously, what the hell happened?"

Edit: (( yeah no kidding! I swear I get kidnapped one day after work for b-day stuff and everybody posts))

Edit2:((I will check back in about 4-6 hours before bed. tomorrow will be somewhat morning at +7 GMT))

What items do we have?

Stone and wood.  No metal, except for stuff we had at the start.  Some alcohol that just came in, but there is not that much, and it will be used up by the party soon.  Since they always happen, it wouldn't make any sense IC to try and rush in saying, stop drinking all the beer, we need to preserve it.  Other than that, it's bee multiple months, so I can't really get any more specific.

(It's only been a few months, It's not like you've had time to dig down and find metal, or as if you know how to work it. However, there is a solution to this probelm, and a relatively easy one at that. And a relatively soon one, as soon as we finish with this day.)

The population is a tad too small to support industry beyond the necessities right now, and metal is not a necessity for survival.  It may be in later stages, but not right now.

(It's only been a few months, It's not like you've had time to dig down and find metal, or as if you know how to work it.)

We do have some metal, but yes, no one has had time to learn how to work it, which is quite a trial-and-error process in order to get it properly done, as far as I understand it.

(Actually, checking stuff it seems you, ICBM pilot, claim to have some experience with shaping metal. However, there's still the problem of getting a useful amount to work with. No one asked to try to learn it over the timeskip. However, we are in autumn...)

No one gave interest before the time-skip, and other things were on people's minds.

(However, we are in autumn...)

Actually, I was thinking mid to late summer.  Excess progress could be attributed to a couple miners from the village.

((I'm back. Sorry about the long absence but I didn't have access to a computer.))

Erils walks back to the cave entrance with the boar copse on his back. He goes to the butchery that they had made quite a long time ago and begins to butcher the boar. While slicing the boar into workable pieces of meat he stops for a second, as if suddenly lost in thought, then shakes his head and continues carving up the boar meat.

After the boar has been carved, Erils looks around and, seeing that he isn't being watched, grabs the boar's tusk. He tries to break it off, then stops for a second as if second guessing himself, before cutting/breaking most of the boar's tusk off with the carving knife. He quickly shoves it in his pocket, then looks around to ensure no-one was watching. Erils suddenly looks grief-stricken and grabs his head.

What am I doing? I shouldn't be taking boar teeth as souvineers. I'm not a savage.

Erils calms himself in the butchery before anyond notices, and then continues to carve up the boar, its tusk still in his pocket.
