"Seems like Cish lost a companion in the storm. There's no way we'd find him in that, but maybe he'd see the light from a torch. Are you guys willing to take the risk?"

Even if you found a suitable opening, I doubt it would prove all too satisfying. And it might leave some nasty wounds, depending on the moral high ground's geology.

Baffler likes silver, walnut trees, the color green, tanzanite, and dogs for their loyalty. When possible he prefers to consume beef, iced tea, and cornbread. He absolutely detests ticks.

Baffler removes a torch from it's place, and moves closer to the doorway, careful to keep it out of the rain. Even in the relative shelter of the cave mouth, the wind is surprisingly strong. Quickly, Baffler glances over to check the torch. The warm glow of the fire flickered a little, but remained strong. Reassured, he calls out loudly into the the storm, parroting Cish's call for lack of a better idea. "OLED! OLED! JASRO!" Pausing for a moment before calling out again. Baffler peered out into the darkness, but couldn't see much of anything outside of the torch's warm light.

At least I'm probably easily visible, he thought.

Subconsciously, Baffler bends his knees slightly, and holds his spear a bit tighter. Cish was friendly enough (or seemed to be) but you couldn't be too careful.

A few minutes passed, and Cish returned to the fire, looking a bit dejected.

"Poor guy..."

Kari frowns.

"I'm gonna go out and look for him. its only a bit of rain. Whats the worst that could happen?"

Without another word, Kari heads out, looking for a guy apparently called Oled.

Erils keeps his bow close by, just in case, and calls out after Kari and Pilot.

"Don't take too long. The rain with the cold could make you get some disease or sickness. None of us have been here before, so none of us would likely be immune either, unless the diseases are carried by the same viruses and bacteria. Just don't take too long."

Cish called out after them as they left. "Ig! Tibepi! Alu fek ura!" he called, seeming apprehensive about their departure. He mimed rain, then coughing, then rolled his eyes back and drew his finger across his throat.

(The rain doesn't seem to have given Cish a syndrome, and he was soaked quite badly. It's just very cold and wet. Hasn't Kari already left?)

Cish sat down, sighing, and said "Dana pumik ad oled... dana punik ad oled."

"Why do you suspect that this is an evil area?  Considering the level of technology, he's more likely talking about a flu, something that was more volatile during the middle ages because of the immune systems being not as refined and effective medical care was scarce."
