"Fate is a cruel mistress who sent us all here before Christmas... if we ever get back, Hihi's gonna freak." Cado shakes his head with a thoughtful smile.

"Maybe if we do, I can get my little brother an authentic electrum mini-forge for Christmas, or maybe my very own lion tamarin bone figurine..."

Erils crawls through the grass, slowly approaching another one of the boars. The memory of the first boar is still fresh in his mind. As he draws closer to the first boar, the scenes of the death of the first boar keep flashing in his mind.
Suddenly Erils' hands and face feel like they are covered in blood again. He shakes his head and looks at his hands and face again. There is no blood on either of them and the feeling has left.

You're okay Erils. You just imagined that blood. It's like the guilt scene in Macbeth. You're okay...

"I had to kill the boar. We need food."

Erils picked up his bow again and notched one of his arrows. Erils slowly took aim at the boar ahead. Erils tried to keep the bow still, but his arm kept shaking. As Erils finally stopped his arm shaking, he saw 2 shoats run up to the side of the boar, which Erils now realised was a sow. The sow rubbed its nose against the shoats, both nuzzling up against their mother.

((anyone get the Lord of the Flies reference?))

I can't kill a mother, then its babies would be alone...

Erils lowered his bow as the boars continued grazing. Suddenly he heard the crack of thunder from the oncoming storm.

That storm is coming faster than I expected. I should probably get back to the cave. I don't want to be caught in the rain.

Erils picks up his bow and turned to start heading back to the cave where the others were.

She just shakes her head at the conversation about an adventurer coming to attack us. "I really, REALLY hope that does not happen. Last thing we want is to be massacred by a legendary warrior."

((For the record, I'm not optimistic about your collective chances of survival against a trained, fully armored warrior right now. The only logical reason for one to appear at the moment would be a wandering, surprisingly well-equipped bandit, and that would be a bit BS...))

"Cheer up. Maybe she'll show up."
"...Although it would probably be better if she didn't."

((I mentioned a group being sent to investigate our arrival, which until someone corrects me I will assume was accompanied by some kind of dramatic event. Like a flash of light, or a huge boom, or a giant comet thing.)

(Toady made a deal with some comet gods, to stress test the new AI system   :P )

(And who knows, we could have been asleep for a decent chunk of time after our arrival. And nothing would stir us, leaving plenty of opportunity for a flash of light or some other out of the ordinary event to announce our presence.)

Bringing religious content into a thread seems like an awfully good way to lead to arguments. In turn, the arguments will lead to the thread being locked.

I think this discussion should probably end now.

(Can we still have an event where a intrigued group sets off to investigate us? Seems like a nice lead in to 'First Contact')
