"Also bear in mind that the bearhides are probably going to be used for blankets or sheets or something."

"Unintentional pun?"

"We could use the metal to make thermite."

"Since no one had a pack when we arrived, and laptops don't fit into pockets, I think we should stop trying to contemplate what we could have done, since that will only lead to a sadness that it couldn't be done."

"Oh. In that case, we might as well continue with the experimenting as electricity would be a really good thing to have. Electric lighting, pumped water for sanitation, among other things would be great to have."

"Let's worry about that after we get the main fort set up.  Speaking of which, I had better start up the farms."

Go over to the pond and construct 2 3x3 farms.  Plant wild strawberries in one, and pig tails in the other. (2 hours and 48 minutes at my skill level)
Begin digging out an area in the upper level for a 3x3 underground farm in a separate 'room' within the hill. (1 hour at my skill level since top level is dirt.)

(5 hours for preparing a 3x3 area sound good?  2 hours to plant is honestly a fairly long time, but in a 3 meter by 3 meter area, it should be about right.)

"When is anybody going to make leather?"
"We need to butcher the bears and get a tanning workshop up. Also bear in mind that the bearhides are probably going to be used for blankets or sheets or something."
"They would be more useful for armor or wooden weapons for the hippie so it doesn't get splinters."

"The elves don't need to use wooden weapons.  They can use metal just fine."

"I know but we don't have any so we should have her make wood weapons"

"Elves learned how to do that from other elves.  She is a human transformed into an elf.  Innate knowledge is a scientific impossibility.  Doesn't mean either of them can't try to learn through experimentation, though."

"So anyone know the basis of how the Elves make thier wooden stuff?

Do they sing to trees? or do other....ahem.... stuff with them?"

Kari suddenly comes over feeling very embarrassed.

"Maybe i should just go and experiment with that three over there....."

Kari walks over to a tree and starts asking it politely to listen to her and make a sharp wooden sword out of its oh-so-lovely branches. (Can somoene other than me roll for this please? or can the GMs call it? Am i even doing this right?).

"Hm? Ah. Yes I suppose it is."

"Innate knowledge is a scientific impossibility."
"Not so. Who teaches one to breathe? Who teaches the sea turtle to swim, or the squid to hunt? ...But yeah, the elves won't have inborn knowledge of making wooden weapons."

"Well, the definition of knowledge I was using was the creation of items, but I get your point."

(Can somoene other than me roll for this please? or can the GMs call it? Am i even doing this right?).

(RP it how you believe that it would happen.  Go into detail (unless it would be considered explicit.  If so, choose a...different method), the more the better.  One word of advice, don't get it entirely right the first time, instead have multiple attempts, with improvements made each time.)

"Do you really think that will work? Just carve it like a normal person and wait until we invent cameras before you start doing other stuff with them."

"What. Why...Why would you want to video an elf doing explicit things to a tree?"

"A...Anyway. Erm, tree? could you pretty pretty please turn one of your limbs into a nice strong sharp sword?" Kari asks, trying to be as polite as possible.

The tree does nothing. Kari thinks she hears a faint laugh.

She decides to repeat the same thing whilst giving the tree a normal, professional masseus-type massage (as well as one can give a rather large tree a massage). Come on! Please, please, please, work! She thinks she see a branch twitch even though there is no wind. She again thinks she hears faint laughing.

Thirdly, she tries giving the tree a far more...intimate massage whilst whispering sweet nothings to the tree inbetween asking it to create weapons from its branches. She also adds in the odd snuggling/cuddling notion. An intricate dagger falls from the upper branches of the tree. Disembodied whispers rustle through the tree and play at Kari's long golden hair.

"YES! Thanks you so much you big, strong tree!" Another two daggers fall from the tree.

Next, She decides to repeat the pleading in a sing song voice, interspersed with whispers to the trees good points whilst dancing full clothed around the tree, with the occasional cuddling/snuggling and caressing, intimate and slightly erotic massage of the tree. Several more daggers, along with a short sword, fall from the tree.

Smiling at her progress, kari then decides to kick thing up a notch. "Its the only way....".

She turns and sees a few of her friends are still watching her. "Could...Could you guys turn around or close your eyes please?"

"You know, why do we even have to make a carpenters workshop? In the game it made sense but... if we're here in real life, why can't I just put the tools on a plank of wood and get to work making some bed frames?"

"...I draw the line at doing things to the tree." Cado facepalms.

"We have 2 axes and 2 bows already! That was just plain creepy... Excuse me while i go feed my self to the carp." Cado walks away and jumps in the river shallows to try and get what he just saw out of his head.
