The thunder boomed again, still distant. Then, again. It sounded like a fairly sizable storm.

Zanzetkuken slowly moved outside after the thunder echoed through the cave.  'Looks like the storm's going to arrive faster than I expected.  Lovely.'  He walked over towards the people working on the carpenter's shop and said, "Hey, you might need to suspend that.  Storm's coming in quicker than would be expected, and we need to get all this stuff inside.  In fact, try shifting this construction down to the basement.  There's really no reason to have it built outside.  I'm going to grab some dry kindling for starting a fire to replenish the torches."

With that, Zanzetkuken walked into the nearby forest.

(I'm going to approximate this as around an hour or two into the time skip.)

"We'll cross--or, if my intuition's right, burn--that bridge when we come to it."
"Didn't you hear how shaken up Erils was after he killed the boar? Do you really want to see how he will react if we have to kill a person?"
"...Your point?"

Baffler looks up from his work.

"I plan to start training with my spear this evening. If it comes to it, I can stand guard outside the cave entrance or something. But if we ever get our hands on a crossbow, I would prefer to use that. About other people though, the last thing we want is for them to think we're bandits and send some crazy steel-clad adventurer to murder us."
"I kinda want them to send a crazy steel clad adventurer to kill us now."
This is met with a smack to the head.

At that very moment, a once-retired, veteran adventurer was setting off with a party of new ones to investigate the strange disturbance in the distance.

"Good plan."

Help.
Do you want to have steel or not? And my point was he would probably kill himself or go insane.

"We have no military. Our best chance of getting steel from an advanturer is to convince him that our random pocket junk would be worth a fortune back home. And I don't see how my statement implied we would need to attack them."

(Why would an adventurer kill themselves or go insane at the sight of a bunch of foreign weirdos camping in a cave?)

(There's always the 'first kill' breakdown, because that is the first time you have ever taken a life.  I don't know about Cado, but the only reason I haven't had that happen from the bears is because he doesn't completely believe this is actually happening, yet.)

"Hmmm.... Yes, why did we build all this stuff outside?"

Kari decides to start moving the constructions into the lower level of the cave, to keep them safe.

She just shakes her head at the conversation about an adventurer coming to attack us. "I really, REALLY hope that does not happen. Last thing we want is to be massacred by a legendary warrior."

"Whos going to grab the equi9pment that is still lying around? They may have been made through a method that required brain bleach afterwards, but they are part of our very small stockpile of equipment and clothing. Best to get them inside."

"I'm on it."

Stop work to haul wooden gear to the cave.

"Still, you're just asking for it. In 2010, a group of college kids encouraged women to dress less modestly one day to prove it doesn't cause earthquakes. A major earthquake hit that day. And that's just the first example that comes to mind. Let's try not to encourage Fate to screw us over, especially since Fate might be an actual entity in this world."
