RadtheCad bent down, taking out his knife.  'This piece of wood should do.  Okay, so, first B-'

The instant he began cutting the first vertical line, a searing pain erupted behind his eyes, and everything went black.

A Glimpse through the Void:: Part 2

Bob Had been having a really bad day.

He had only just managed to avoid the dust cloud, along with the stranger.  He wasn't entirely sure what it had done to the pile of corpses they had left behind, but judging by the state of their flesh and the popping noises emanating from the pile, it wasn't pleasant.  The carnivorous plants seemed to like it, though.

"Well, this sucks", said Bob, absently kicking an eyeplant, which recoiled before glaring at him and retracting beneath the slime.  "At least we have each other, eh-"

"Shut up, you damn halfwit.  I've half a mind to skin you and barter your corpse off to the carnivorous rhinomen.."

"Oh.  Right.

...Wait, RHIN-"

"No more warnings, idiot."

Bob paused for a second, sighed, and sat down on a rock covered in six different kinds of blood and some slime.  It was the cleanest rock he had found in this whole damn place. 

"How could this get any worse?", he murmured to himself.

Suddenly, the stranger wheeled around, staring at him with an intensity unlike any Bob had ever seen him produce.  It was quite unnerving.

"Uh... What is it?", Bob queried, unsettled.  The stranger seemed to be part wanting to say a thousand things at once, part lost for words.  In any case, his eyes were bulging a bit, and veins were visible on his forehead.

"...What...  You... What did you just...  You did NOT just say what I thought you said.  Even you, EVEN AN IDIOT LIKE YOU WOULD UNDERSTAND NEVER TO SAY-"

But before ever he nor Bob could utter another beffudled or angered word, a mighty roar echoed through the slimy field.  Suddenly, a giant voice seemed to boom and resonate somewhere behind Bob's eyelids, leaving a mental image of giant, burning words:

THE FORGOTTEN BEAST ZOLAK GENLATHGAKIT HAS COME.  A GREAT RAVEN WITH THREE EYES AND HARD OVERLAPPING AQUA FEATHERS.
BEWARE ITS DEADLY HORNS.

As the voice receded, its immensity was replaced by a thunderous, echoing flapping noise.

Looking up, Bob suddenly felt very small.  And tasty.

"Oh.

Well, at least I got an answer, eh?"

The stranger's glare could have killed a minor god.

"Rad....er...RAD! Are you OK?"

((I think I can be forgiven for misinterpreting this...

"I'll scratch some words in to the side of this carpentry workshop with my knife."

...as you working on a carpentry workshop.))

Rad slowly shakes his head as he claes his way back into consciousness.

"I...  That...  That was a big void."

Suddenly, snapping back to reality, he pats himslef down to check if he has a knife lodged anywhere-  nope, it's lying on the floor.  That was lucky.

"It's...  It's ok, I'm fine now-"

Suddenly, looking at the plank in front of him, he sees what is written there.
He had meant to write B.  To write Butcher's Shop.
In front of him, on the plank, is written:

Salutations from the Void.  Please stay out.  Your smell is [UNREADABLE].

As he watches, the words melt away, leaving only a small cut where the B should have been.

((Oo-er,  Must still have been in my pre- rollback mindset.  IC, I was probably already a bit mad from my soul being split.  Sorry.
Please tell me if I'm doing something wrong/being obnoxious with this subplot.  Please tell me if you want a part in it!  I'm sure we can all go a-soul wandering.  Ok, maybe not.))

"What on earth was that about?"

"I... I'm not quite quite sure.  I just had some kind of vision, of... weird stuffI can't exactly explain, and then of some guy in an evil biome.  His name is Bob.  A forgotten beast just showed up.  Then I woke up, and some weird cryptic message telling me to 'stay out of the void' was on this plank- honest!"

"Lets just get on with what we were doing. We can bring this up around the campfire tonight".

"...Yeah..."

Kari was about to carry on with aiding the construction of the Butchery, before turning back, concerned.

"Are you sure you are OK? you look and sound like someone kicked you black and blue...."

[RadtheCad]

"Yeah, I'm fine... Let's just get back to work, it soothes my nerves..."

[ICBM pilot]

"I don't see why all of you are so worried about what languages people speak, doesn't somebody have a laptop?"

"What? Someone has a laptop?

Why has no one else come through with stuff from our world, and someone has a laptop?"

"I think so"

"Even if they do, its not like we can use google translate....Unknown languages and no internet connection...."

"No, but we can use the raws."
