Single-pc multiplayer games.
« on: November 27, 2013, 02:47:32 pm »

I'm looking for games that are fun to play with two people when all you have is one laptop. Any suggestions?

I've already got trackmania.

Bonus points if it's free.
Bonus points also if it has low system requirements.

Free games include: Clonk Rage, Cortex Command, M.U.L.E on a Nes emulator, 1830 Railroad Barons on Dosbox, Sumotori Dreams, Super Mario War, and Toribash.

If you want to spend some cash most of the Civilization games have a hotseat mode, and Conquest of Elysium 3 is great.

Most of these games will work on a middle-low tier computer but Super Mario War, some of the older Clonk games, M.U.L.E, Civilization 3, and Conquests of Elysium 3 all have almost negligible system requirements I believe.

Civ IV and the Heroes of Might & Magic games can be played hotseat.

EDIT: Oh low spec laptop, should probably skip the civ games though since they become hogs later on. But A good game of Heroes 3 should run well :)

Clonk Rage
Go for clonk endevor actually, it's 100% free, lower requierments, and almsot the same game. rage is great, but some things are locked unless you have a key, like wild west I think. Mods are great for both, if you're willing to trawl through german to fine most.

Almost every worms game.

This. Our gang usually defaulted to Armageddon, but any of the 2D titles work just fine. Also had a lot of fun with Heroes of Might & Magic 3.

Age of Wonders is another one in the realm of strategy games, I guess.

Clonk Rage was actually recently made completely free, although Endeavor might be better in terms of mods.
