There are four damage types:
KINETIC: Fists, drills, explosions - all do damage through large amounts of force over a larger area.
SLUG: Solid metal, propelled at high speeds. Railguns, the psychical missiles
ELECTRIC: How shocking. Enemies killed via electricity damage cannot suffer critical reactor failure.
LASER: Pew pew. From the basic laser to the Directed Focus Plasma Lance Cannon.
Ammo is the number of shots before you need to relaod that weapon. Reloading takes that weapon's use that turn, even for weapons will multiple uses.
Each weapon slot can equip a weapon of equal or lower level, indicated by the [1], etc next to it. Some weapons can only be mounted on arms or shoulders, some on both, some on both simultaneously.
Range for most weapons is more of a... guideline. Accuracy decreases a lot past the recommended range, but you can still try to wing it. Unless it's a melee weapon. You don't have telescopic arms.

The better you fight, the more credits you get. This first load is on the house, but if you buy enhancements for your suit or even new mechas, we'll store and maintain them for you. Ain't we nice?
I'd like to point here we aren't paying you for anything we give you now. No point picking the biggest mech now because you can think you can sell it on for more later.
The more awesomely you kick ass, the more you can interlink with the neural systems in your suit. Don't ask us how it works. You can spend style points as a boost to credits, to encourage engineers to enhance your equipment, or in the field to try to pull off epic actions. If you succeed, you'll do something awesome. It you fail – well, you dun goofed, boy, you dun goofed.
We'll be watching the combat from orbit, overlaying on a combat grid. Each square represents a minuscule 1 km squared.
As a multi-role giant robot, you can use each weapon once per turn unless otherwise stated. Different terrain takes different amounts of move to transverse. As a several thousand ton robot, try not to step on anything fragile.
This is both an example and a case of what you'd get if your mecha goes boom-boom.
