Prof. Jones sifted through the emails in his inbox. The last week had been hectic. Apparently some top secret agency was willing to pay him more cash than he was currently getting, to do much the same as he already was with the promise of blue sky funding and world class labs and assistants. What started as seemingly a hoax turned into reality following a series of secret phonecalls and emails, before a batch of documents were passed to him over the desk of his boss - transfer papers with government seals. This would leave Northrop Grumman one world class research scientist short and seriously harm thier work into hyper velocity kinetic weapons, but thier loss would be Prof. Jones gain. The last few emails were particularly interesting - as one of the senior staff members, he would have some influence in the decision making of the as of yet still secret project - all he had been told was that it was a new high tech defence agency, no doubt to serve as some sort of global police to prevent some kind of reckless agression by some rogue state. Full disclosure would have to wait until the first briefing, once a HQ had been built, whenever that was likley to be. Ah, the HQ... current debate via email was centred on where to situate the project HQ...
Reccomend building HQ in Western Turkey - in aircraft range of traditional flashpoints, yet secure. Many major population centres (West and East EU, North Africa, Western Russia, Middle East) are within a few hours flight. Proximity to EU and Russia offers strategic value. USA and Australia will be out of air cover range, but those 2 locations are traditionally secure. The rest of the world will have to cope without our intervention for now
