Lasers are far more accurate than bullets! Attachments won't help with accuracy unless they're sights or something, but they wouldn't help as much as using lasers would!

We should try out some prototype lasers on the captive - for fun just so we know it is worth using them.

We should interrogate the captive first before lasering it.

I feel that the two needn't be mutually exclusive...

Interrogate it with experimental lasers!

Oh come on, why not go with good old railguns?

No. I suppose there are similarities, but I'm fairly certain angry birds doesn't let me charge into a battalion of knights with a car made of circular saws.

Why use weapons for interrogation at all?

Geez, guys, we have a range. Why not test the guns there?

Prof Jones sighed...

"Lasers make sense as these things appear to have a whole body sensory apparatus that would be easy to compromise with laser light, in addition to secondary damage due to burning. I am all for rail guns, but first we need to see just how vulnerable these things are to coherent light as part of a full and thorough evaluation/interrogation."

"Can we please get attachments? at the very least they wont take long, give us some support in the field and allow us to shove things on whatever weapons we get next. Judging from the results of fire in the terror mission, a small mounted flamethrower or a grenade launcher launching fire grenades will be of great use, while a bayonet or something will help us with close quarters."
"And dont you dare test weapons on my captive. I am not going to get you another one if you just waste them."

Dr. Shinotsa suggests that the research focus be on interrogation, followed by armor, followed by upgrades, followed by lasers. This plan of action is the product of much deep thought, and the emphasis on armor has been put to make sure that we prevent any more soldiers from becoming disarmed in the line of duty.

Edit: Also make sure we have good leg armor, don't want our forces to be defeeted now do we?
