I wonder what the guy who prototyped it was thinking.
"Ha ha! I can 'invent' the bow, and get all the promotions and pay raises that come with inventing a weapon to fight the aliens with!"

Continue advancing Alien Biochemistry, partly because awesome, partly because that's the logical way to develop a version of the venom that is more thermally stable.

This isn't on the list.  We probably need some more corpses for that.

Also produce a single bow and twenty envenomed arrows.
Expense Approved. What are you sending back to the storage rooms?

So one person can just requisition something and it's just a simple up/down?  If so, I request a single Common Sentinel Scout Walker, because hell yeah.  40% odds isn't too bad!

Unfortunately, the X-COM Funding council has denied your request for a Common-Quality Scout Walker.

Oh. Darn.
In that case:
Spoiler: Improved Chemistry (click to show/hide)
Research that.

P.S:
Weren't bows not invented until well after we figured out living in non-cave things? Like, when we were primitive tribesmen and not cavemen?

Prof. Jones will resubmit a request for improved ballistic weapons, preferally some kind of coilgun or railgun family of weapons to deliver envenomed rounds or darts without the need for traditional firearm propellant damaging the serum.

I suggest a two-part research project of "Medi-kit" and "How to Properly Curse the Government's Lack of Alien Tissue Samples," especially since the results of the latter could be modified to apply to battlefield situations.
