So does anyone here want to try to join a ship together again? Remember, if we have three people or less, and some patience, we can pretty much guarantee getting on the same ship.

Not really. My brother and I joined at exactly the same time and ended up on two different ships, neither full.

Yes, because you didn't have patience. I'm saying you CAN do it, not that it's guaranteed if you just jump blindly.

It's why any ship worth it's salt requires him to absolutely always go on expeditions (and gives the hacker kit to chun or brings that along too!)

if you can get both jin su and janice on the expedition, with hacker kit being left to chun or even abandoned somewhere, you could kill chun , steal the kit and move the ship. that would cripple morale so much that even if your cover is blown the mission will most likely fail.

Depends if my ship makes it to the weekend or not.  Both mush are dead... but it now depends on the activity of whoever is left.

Our new captain Chao is actually active.  So that is a good thing, but... we will see how far we get.  Right now, trying to get someone to work on finding a planet.
We literally spent 2 days worth of AP dealing with the 2 mush, at least 3 characters doing the attacking.  Have zero research done, and have 2 Nexus projects done.
Also one of the mush messed with both the oxygen tanks too... so yea it doesn't leave us in a great situation.

It is mandatory for Chun to wear the armor.  As for weapons... the knife and blaster should be on the expedition run in the first place...

Zangi has it right - the knife and blasters should already be going on the expo, and the armor should be worn by Chun.

Anywho, I figure I'll just be setting up another jump in a spreadsheet, and we can try to get groups of 3 jumping together on the same ship.

I'll PM people who are interested.

I think they do yes. But it seems pretty irrelevant, if oxygen runs out everyone dies and the mush win anyway, no?

Nope.  That's what happens when the ship explodes.  When O2 runs out, players (thought just humans) suffocate one by one each cycle.

However, we hit 0 O2 and my character, a converted mush, died.  Totally surprised me.  If I'd known I -could- suffocate, I would have jumped into a space suit.
I am in a spacesuit! Hahaha! :P

Very nice, Kolbur!  I did indeed have a plan to finish hastening your doom.  And I knew you were in a space suit, because I saw the room log of you picking it up.  Terrence ate the banana you were asking me about, btw.  Your moving around made me think you were coming to try and shoot me before you died, so I moved around enough to use up the AP I expected to finish you with.  So you got one more cycle before I did so... and then I didn't have any more cycles.

So I assume the offline mush suffocated the next cycle and you're either now smithereens on the ship you cannot solo save, or you're still heading towards smithereenness.  What a pity I didn't figure out a way to convert you.  Now we all lose - which was the closest to a win you could have done and very good play.
Frieda suffocated in the next Cycle and I died in at the same time by suicide, game is over. Yes I was searching for you but also for my Tracker which I forgot where I dropped it, so I was a bit blind at that point. I barely failed to shoot you in the forward corridor.  ;D
After that I found Frieda in the Medlab and tried my blaster luck on her but this thing is freaking inaccurate, only 1 hit out of 3 + one punch hit. Earlier I ate a banana from the garden 2 times to keep my morale up.

Very glad to know how it ended, thank you.  Alright, I'll get the [AP] learning hurts up later today, at work now and can't spare the time yet.  Or you can get it up if you want, if you enjoy such things.  I know blasters can miss.  I know they can one-hit kill.  IF you had not moved that cycle, I would have popped in and demoralized you a few seconds before the end of the cycle, to ensure you died right then.  Since you moved, I dodged around you.  I was aware you were in the rear corridor with me for an instant.  I was home and doing other things, so I just checked the game every few minutes.  When you went idle in the garden, I figured you were either trying to bore me to inobservation, or you ran out of moves there.  Either way, I'd spent the AP I was going to demoralize you with by running around playing keep away.

Great job preventing my win, I believe you succeeded in that.  Maybe in preventing Freida's as well, I'm not sure.

I'm already on a new ship, I started it as soon as I saw I was dead.  It's active and I'm Paola.  Still don't have my sofa built and there's a lot of 'they type English but say they are French' players there, but several people seem to know how to play, it's D2 C1 and there's already research and projects finished, and I'm not sure how many actives but I have to say 'enough'.

Good luck on your last ship!  Oh, and I wanted to make sure the deal I tried to offer you was legal.  It's being debated on the forums now, but in strict definition of the rules, I was legal to offer it (though borderline to admit I was mush - under the circumstances though that was not playing against my team - however you would have been breaking the 'no suicide' rule to genuinely accept it.  Darn.  I wasn't trying to set you up.  Here's that Twinoid thread about the rules if you're curious.

Aha!  Edited to add, and here's our rankings from the journey.

utterly hilarious.  I got the 'starring role' on that ship.  That's madness.  Paola for spiking me I think should have gotten that  :-\  Oh well!

Yeah, and I received NO extra glory at all, because even though I attacked 4 different people (and 3 of them were killed) I killed none of them. Completed no research or anything. Firefighting gave no glory either...

Oh and I was thinking about pretending to accept your offer and then attacking you as soon as you would bring the ration but for that I would have to wait for the next cycle and I rather wanted to go to bed at that point since it was a lost cause anyway. I also had a grenade but couldn't use it due to this Neron Peace setting. Heheh, that would have been fun.  :P

Edit: I'm also on a new ship and it's way more active. Shows to me how utterly awful our crew was, really. On this new ship we already have 2 projects finished on Day 1 and we will have more research and projects finished very soon as well.

Hey Imp, you rule-bending swagger, I'm the Waggy on that thread. Yeah, so my opinion, based on the history and rules, is that the conversion process from human to Mush isn't as simple as switching-sides in a game of team tag. It's pointlessly... death.

But I just came here because of an insight I had thanks to your thread. I was going to post this there but thought I had said too much already:

Quote
[cite=@Impet:7950824]
What a loss to playstyle choices and dramatic opportunities.[/cite]

Who decides what is or isn't good playstyle choices and dramatic opportunities? Will you referee every game to make sure people stay within acceptable boundaries?

Mush is a game first, playstyle choice and dramatic opportunities second. If you'd like it to be the opposite, how about you make a role-playing game out of it? Simply copy all the mechanics and host a game with you as the game-master, overseeing borderline issues, with relaxed rules for reliable players. I'd be the first to sign-up for the inaugural more role-playing over strict mechanics kind of game.

And it also sounded a bit patronizing. Anyway, there it is. Why not do this? Convert the entire game into a manual, tabletop player-driven experience, host it on Roll20, enjoy 10-minute short cycles or less.

Obstacles:
#1 The game's dice-rolls are hidden. They'd have to be estimated to provide similar results.

#2 Copy-pasting everything is possibly, kind of not fully respecting someone's copyright, maybe. Nothing switching a few words won't do. Or changing the game to ASCII.  :P

#3 Lots of stuff for the GM to keep track of. Charts and automation would come in handy.

#4 Getting 16 players for a session, annoyingly at a scheduled date.

What say you? I can see the system working, but I find the 16 player-count requirement depressing. You could never get that many people. They'd just play SS13 instead.

But seriously - does anyone know how see past games you've participated in? Is it even possible? I've never gotten a message about them or a link or anything. :/ But people clearly post links here.

If you've got alot of time and patience, you can try to find your ship before it gets publicly posted.  Use this link and change the number at the end: http://mush.twinoid.com/theEnd/950

For reference my ship that just got posted from 2 weeks ago is number 818.  Two weeks later and it's up to number 1200.

But I did manage to say something along the lines of "Just grab Finola in the corridor, I managed to stick her with a second Spore, she's easy pickings" followed by "ignore that" in that public chat as a parting gift.

Wouldn't have worked with me. The mush channel reveals who has been spored with how many :P

Ah, paranoia setting, max.  You might have 1 spore, oh no!  But then, you are pretty easy to convert if the 2 alpha mush can coordinate it.

Ah, but fun stuff is that you can stick 3 spores into a single ration. It was a favorite tactic when I was mush. And trapping rations is invisible and can be done under cameras.

The attempt on the Mush forums to get a bunch of "experienced" players together. Pretty much all of the players on my ship joined from the MMM thread, except one (who was immediately killed off by the guy who turned out to be the Mush).

All I know is that I never want to play with the sort of people who want to do an MMM again.

I got all brilliant players on my MMM ship. We're at day 6 with 14 people alive, 2 mush dead, hull at 98%. I give this ship a 10/10 rating.

We also have this:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Our biggest problem is that we're too active. Too many tight anti-mush restrictions. Everyone is online on almost every cycle. Favorited threads degenerate into roleplay, jokes, and arguing. My favorite conversation so far:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

EDIT: Holy crap, Eleesha just gave me her logs. Not going to leak it until the ship is over but it's really... detailed. As in every movement in every room detailed.
