Something I wish I'd known earlier: You can only gain morale from 'Doing It' once a day.

well, our commander was mush. we are now running out of oxygen. we killed him, but nobody else got the commander title, so to move the ship I had to hack the console... I am low on AP now, and can't do much... if somebody becomes commander next cycle, we still have a chance of finding an oxygen planet in time. otherwise, we are extremely screwed.
If you were gioele i think i was on the same ship as now dead kuan-ti. You were the one player that kept me sane on that ship. Everyone else was either saying nothing "i think X is a mush!" and then stayed silent again. I think i got spoiled by my second game where we got to day 15 though.

So are there any ways to kill a mush without the knife or blaster? The mush has the knife and the blaster is on an still idle chao.

Blaster is horrible. It can critical fail easily, has only 3 ammo, and 50% chance to hit. I just ended up tossing it and having it used against me... useless unless you're Chao (or Shooter).

The Solid skill (Stephen/Gioele) is quite good, close damage to the knife without the criticals.

Otherwise... I wouldn't bother killing without the knife. It's far too dangerous and takes too long. You can injure yourself easily. Unless you're ganking the mush. I think there are 2 knives aboard some ships.

But that's the point. I had no attack option at all.

If the mush is identified, everyone should attack it with punches and just try to take it out as quickly as possible. Takes 1ap

How to identify it? We all saw in the logs how he killed two crewmates with a knife. Is that not enough? Do we have to use a command for it?

CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF JUSTICE

Taz, are you messing up poor Empty's ship?

Nah we just started. Those were the first two kills of the game at the end of day 2.

yes, it was me. you were the one who almost kept my hopes up for our survival. you seemed competent.

Sadly, after you got killed, stuff went downhill fast.
Roland was mush, I believe. but we just died to lack of oxygen, since there was nobody alive to refuel the ship, move it, etc.
still, a good first game. but I wish people spoke more... it felt like we had a ghost crew.

Log of Imp-Eleesha, Day 5, end of Cycle 1

Quote
The situation has stabilized.  Through much effort the valiant pilots have destroyed the 13 menacing hunters.  As I have no specialized skills which are needed for specific duties aboard, I focus on Nexus research - currently we are a quarter done debating with Neron the need to armor the corridors (-1 to all damage the ship takes, woo!  and our hull's currently at 52!).

The suicide pact was broken, apparently.  Only one of the Crew, Janice who was supposedly a psychologist, slew herself at the end of yesterday.  It remains to be seen if the other two actually follow through on the pact or not, but this gives us needed time to reassure each other that life is indeed worth living.

We've decided to use the Medibay as a comfort station.  I believe we'll be able to keep each others' spirits up quite nicely.

We had a small medical emergency - turns out that Frieda, in her haste to slay the final Mush, managed to drop the blaster and broke her foot with it.  None of us had realized that was possible, but she's recovering well.

Fuel and actually low food reserves remain our greatest problems.  I'd not eaten for four days myself, wise that we needed to conserve and was starting to really suffer from that, but despite having several fruitful banana trees and the 9 alien steaks that the expedition returned with, we actually only have three remaining rations after someone kindly brought a cooked one to me.  Apparently most of the crew has been eating quite freely for the extra strength and motivation that food provides.

It appears plans are to wait here another few cycles, to soon retrieve scrap from the destroyed Hunters as planets are scanned for in the areas a small distance away from the ship, and then we will move towards a planet that offers us food and fuel.

I believe we have fuel enough left for only one more expedition.  This is safe, so long as the mission is successful and does find fuel.  But if something goes wrong this time, I believe we won't have the chance to move the ship again.

So what I get that its multiplayer. And (sadly >_>) like SS13.

Do we have a Bay12 server? :D

Looks like people are trying to get one together, but there's not really 'servers' in the proper sense.  Apparently when you sign up you get to pick one of 3-4 characters (even if there's other open characters! I was the second aboard my ship - but I didn't get to pick from all the open characters at all) and then you get put on your ship.

If others sign up when you are, they might get put on the same ship.  But your name is your character's name, only.  No one on the ship knows 'who' you are, you are just your character.  You can chat and you'd better - coordination matters a lot.  But organizing to get a bunch of people playing all at the same time is maybe the only way to try and get a ship where most of us are all together.
