Well, I'm Eleesha.  My personal glory points come from rebel bases contacted.  There's a max of what, Six?  And I get 2 glory each time one is contacted.  So... that's an absolute total of 12 personal glory.  Only my ship, we failed to make 2 of those contacts.  So I have 8 personal glory.  But my glory total's currently 110.  I guess everyone alive on my ship has around that much glory or more - but who cares?  If you want glory awards then you learn to pick a character that's able to get high glory I guess.  It just doesn't seem broken to me.

What is the point of glory?

Glory is more like points for playing in character. So if you play a paranoid mush hunter Gioele, you get glory. If you play Crazy Chao, you get glory. Paola gets pulled to learning the communications thingy. Mush are encouraged to wreck the ship quickly. Stephen is encouraged to be power hungry. It's just a little bias to get players roleplaying properly.

It doesn't really make the game more fun or make you survive longer though.

To whoever was Chao on my last ship.

It was a glorious run. I didn't even realize I was that wounded before the expedition. Oh well. Was a great run. I never thought we'd make it past day 4. So many inactives..So few options to raise morale. Ah. Good times.

Welp, all hell broke loose on my ship and I died over night... More mush than anyone expected, I'll be honest.

You actually win if the ship returns to Sol and there are mush aboard. To return to Sol, you'll need the reactor online.

If you actually get to Eden with mush on board... well, that's an epic win and you'll have bragging rights forever.

No glory or casting tickets for that epic win though...  I don't think mush even get any casting tickets... period.  (Google translate from the French wiki.)

Unfortunately the person who infected me also blew my cover by accident, or I'd have lain quiet and just played along.

Log of Imp-Eleesha, Day 10, Cycle 8

Quote
Our journey is about to end.  We have researched all we must, repaired the Pilgred Engine, kept each other alive and reasonably happy.  The ship's falling apart, not the hull itself but fragments of the ceiling and metal panels rain down upon us all.  People have panic attacks, food poisoning, get hurt picking up pills and bananas.  Several doors are broken and our oxygen tanks have almost burst repeatedly.

We've solved all of the essential problems right now though.  Though it was hard, we 10 have survived, and we are about to return to Sol with the cure.  We have heard rumor of Eden, but we've decided that it's better to ensure that all 10 of us reach Sol alive than to accept greater risk in search of greater glory.  We are all sure that if we continued, some of us would die, and we all have come to love each other enough that saving ourselves and the rest of humanity is the greatest prize we could seek together.  Perhaps another expedition later will find new worlds to colonize, after the mess on Earth has been cured.

It's been an amazing trip.

So, you guys who did the massive join at the same time experiment, how is it going?  People started the game and then it went silent here.  Has it been that intense aboard your ships or what else is going on?

I am the one who ended up alone. Its been... ok.

I have learned a whole lot on this ship and realized who I want to be my main character from now on. And how worthless rebel base transmissions are too.

And how spore sucker is absolutely the best project to research right away because it is so damned awesome.

What does spore sucker do?  Rebel bases aren't worthless, only the first one sucks.  The rest are really useful.

I also got lumped by myself on a ship. It's... been interesting to say the least. Captain got assassinated by a trigger-happy Chao, some important people were idle/killed, had a big argument whether to kill Chao or not. Currently we've got enough oxygen for only another couple cycles. If it wasn't for a new player who put some fuel he got while salvaging into the combustion chamber, we would have mounted a expedition for more O2. Not that I particularly care anymore, since I just got mushified (in full view of a camera no less), but eh.

I believe it sucks out spores to reduce your infection level or something like that.

Isn't spore sucker... painful? Why not just get the soap that reduces spores? Oh, sarcasm.

Also, yeah, a lot of the later rebel bases are useful. One of them gives a ton of morale to the whole crew; that's nothing to sniff at.

I'm waiting for the MMM tomorrow. Should be fairly epic. If there aren't active ships then, I don't know what's worth it.

Spore suckers are useful because they make you dirty, guaranteed, and Mush can't use them. I'll let you figure out the rest from there.

The whole removal of spore things is just a nice side effect.
