Best title given to your adventurer and misc
« on: November 24, 2013, 09:14:29 am »

Just recently I gained my first adventurer title, he was known as:

Razgar Heatbane the raptor of creations! (something along the lines of that)

Anyways feel free to freely discuss adventurer titles and places where you were well-known!

Not an adventurer but:

Mebzuth Sneakstaves the Kind Duty of Steel

the fun thing is, he is the Hammerer.

A long long time ago in a world far far away I once had an amazing dwarf axeman (who was only ever injured once, in an epic battle with a bandit warlord) that had slain upwards of 25 titans, 4 rocs, some ettin, innumerable bandits and creatures of the night.

I forget his true name, but the people of this world donned him 'The rogue of society'.

The rogue of society'.

rather good name unlike people who got names like murdeous butterfly and the ball of flowers. (Note I made these names up and no one I know got these as titles)

I have four titles that stick out in my mind at the moment.

One was The Creepy Soaking of Shells, which is kinda creepy, actually.

Another was The Lover of Towers, which at least makes some sense.

Then there was The Tribe of Will. I think it's not bad. Doesn't make much sense though, how can one person be a whole tribe?

Finally was my husk, who was named The Martyr of Soldiers, which is probably my favourite title. Not really fitting for a blight against nature that spent all of it's time murderizing peasants and thralling elephants, but at least it sounds cool.

E: Just remembered two more. One was called The Rhythm of Oblivion, and the other was The Defiler of Mirth.

Olon Anvilstone the Depression of Glorifying. I have to imagine he's conflicted about all the praise he gets for taking so many lives.

Also, Ume Snugglepears the Ambiguous Heart of Silence, the soft-spoken, somewhat questionable slayer of goblins (he is a vampire, after all).

Not mine, but I remember that somebody had a funny name, but then got the title "Shadow of death" and a sword named "The terrifying whispers of forgotten dead".

Icop Fistcaves, the Buff Sacrifice of Partners. Appropriate, given that partner sacrifice is precisely how she earned her title.

McDonald: I recall the legendary sword being named "Haunting Whispers of Forgotten Dead".

I had a very-dfhacked multi-race fort once and, after an elf barbarian had snicker-snacked a deadly dust fb, i made sure to save the game (those things get one attack in and your elite military is done for).  this gave me an opportunity to save scum the name-generator.  the end result was an adamantine longsword named "the impure powers"

I'd say the best random adventurer name and title I've gotten is Ostro Siegedream the Abyssal Warrior of Actions.  Also one of my most successful adventurers - vampire, necromancer, monster hunter, bane of armies and slayer of gods (or at least demons posing as gods).  She's surely left plenty of foes thinking they must be facing a monster from the abyss, and she's more than fast enough for 'of actions' to be fitting.

"Leshi Bottledskunk the Sprayed Decline of Bodies"

Somehow, it reminds me of Kill Bill. Except there were more cave swallow people involved in Leshi's adventures.

I have quite a few in my collection... And as I can't chose wisely, have all of the best ones.

Like "Akan Releaseghosts the Gladness of Stops". Berserked, but remorseful warrior, anyone? Sadly, he died horribly after losing his nose to a lasher.
Or take "Ase Machineclasps the Massive Humor of Skulls" and "Nilun Shingleceilings the Branded Palm od Abating". Both caught arrow to the face.
"Nikom Mutestirred the Partner of Jail". Must have been a long-time convict. Lingered for quite a time after having his spine shot through by a kobold.

On the bright (and living) side stands "Leto Dimpledhonor the Famous Brilliant-Incident of Myth". Taking into account that he is quite elderly (but not overly so), perhaps one of his youth adventures got quite a renown of its own.
"Astan Agessell the Rapid-Fed Prophesy". Like really, he didn't want to go adventuring - yet everyone told him otherwise because village elder got a prophetic vision last evening after getting really drunk and falling asleep into pond.
"Sekel Landdoor the Fair Delights of Euphoria". Must have been quite a hedonist to earn such title.
"Mevena Battlewitch the Harmonies of Deteriorating". Really, being bloodthirsty cold-hearted killer. And a drow. And the legendary hero practically in every corner of the world...

And the last one... Purely epic and my own favorite. "Othdo Ancientcloset the Humble Distraction of Papers"!

Science is always important. But it needs more flaming cats. Can't we build bridge-based catapults and fling flaming cats at the dust and goo?

It's time for the ATHATH Death Counter to increase once more in celebration for the end of the world.
