She has you pinned, and you are losing.
You stealthily conjure the sphere, and she presses harder against your neck, causing you to lose concentration.
 "I know what you're doing, whelp." She says, her baneful eyes locked to yours.

This is it. If you don't surrender, she could even kill you. You shed a single tear from your eye as you taste the bitter feeling of defeat.

Suddenly, a certain Dulluhan friend catches your eye.
 "SHIFT!" Janice yells out, raising her arms high. Suddenly Katherine let's go of her glaive and it dissipates, letting you free. Katherine begins to float into the air, gently floating up.
 "W- What the hell!?" She yells out, in a futile attempt of escaping.

Suddenly, Janice is forced onto the ground at lightning-quick speeds, creating the sound of a painful crack as Katherine yells out in pain.
 "Potentes Gravitatem, hold!" Janice yells out as she closes her hands into a fist. Katherine is held to the hard ground, being forcefully held against her will.

You massage your neck a bit before walking up to Janice.
  "Holy shit, thank you!" You say in utter relief.
  "Aw', it was nothing." Janice says, blushing a bit.
  "That was damn amazing though. What magic was that?" You ask.
  "Potentes Gravitatem magic. Magic that controls gravity, a type of Siphon magic." She says, winking at you.

You look back to Katherine, who's still struggling.
  "Let's just leave her. The hold should wear off in a few minutes, and all I probably did was break her arm or something." Janice says.

"Will do, Violet." Janice says, giving a thumbs up. Images of a newspaper saying that a young human girl by the name of Katherine was mysteriously squished into jelly pops in your head.

You make way towards the Tower of Potentia, where your class is.
 You open the door and creep i-
 "VIOLET! ABOUT DAMN TIME, MAN THAT WAS A GOOD FIGHT!" Your teacher, Mr. Knuckles, a large muscular man with four arms. He has a bald head and grayish skin. A long scar is seen across his face.
 "GOD, THAT SIPHON WITCH SURE POUNDED THAT LITTLE GIRL!" Mr. Knuckles says. He must have watched from the window.

"Damn, I don't even care about you being late. Take a seat, take a seat." He says, motioning for you to sit with the rest of the class.

He scratches the back of his head with his top left hand. "Alright, where were we, oh yeah! Magic weapons!" He says, pointing his finger up.

"Now, there are three types of magic and two types of magic summons. Runic, Siphon, and Sound.
Runic mages inscribe runes that summon an item for them. Siphon mages draw power around them and use that to conjure something. Sound mages use their own body vibrations to summon. Now, read the papers laid out on your desk and summon your magic weapon. Especially you, Violet, since I didn't even see you use one as you got wrecked by that girl's sweet glaive." He says, standing in front of the classroom with fighting posters everywhere.

You take the paper that's on your desk and read it.
 To summon something:
Meditate and concentrate on the weapon. Try to picture and describe each part of it in extreme detail in your mind, and how it works. Then try to summon the weapon. Your weapon becomes more powerful as you do.

Seems pretty easy, but you know for a fact that it's easier said than done. After all, it's hard for you to even summon a blank cube.

Tempting as it is to leave a specific, unexplained make and model...
Some variety of large-caliber semi- (or fully?) automatic pistol, with some kind of sight, ideally laser or somesuch. Hopefully, the magic will help us overcome the inherent limitations of some of these features.

You decide to enchant the pistol with fire. You then give the pistol a truly bad ass name:
Phoenix Blaster. Fuck yeah.

You memorize it quickly. The more you summon it, the less you'll have to concentrate to use it.

You then start to draw a rune. You draw a basic summoning rune with aspects of Fabrico, Ignis, and Telum.
You draw the rest of the rune. You inscribed the rune on your right wrist. You channel your energy into the rune, and a flame bursts into your hand and materializes into the Phoenix Blaster.

"Badass..." You say to yourself.
"DID I HEAR BADASS?" Mr. Knuckles says, jogging over to you.
"A pistol! Amazing, just like the ones they had long ago! Nicely done, Ms. Rondo." He compliments, before going to someone else's weapon, an ice boomerang.

Eventually class is dismissed and you got yourself a bad ass fire-firearm.

Well, school is over for the day at last. You go to the main building where there's a request board and look over it if you don't do anything else.

You feel more experienced with magic and call yourself an apprentice rune mage.
