Lacie just posted, the question just died, so has only one option available: respawn, and James Evan didn't post last time so why should we wait for him at all this time?
He has to choose a place to respawn, and if he doesn't respond by the time SSG posts, then I'll replace him.
Oh, we can respawn? Great! Now Artemis doesn't have to be permanently disabled, roundhouse kicking random people in his anger.

Also, that is a wonderful avatar, by the way.
Oh god that would be horrible! I wouldn't do that to people! Plus, it wouldn't make sense. However, you have to actually die in order to respawn.
Shit, that reminds me, I forgot to add a Death Point to The Question. At certain intervals they give penalties and such. I alos forgot to update statuses. So I'll do that for the next turn.

I wouldn't add penalties, since deaths are mainly a matter of luck and who attacks you. The current system already adds momentum to those who are lucky; they probably don't need more.

I'm thinking (hoping) that they're not severe things. Maybe a quest to cleanse your soul or else, or a demon gets summoned above your head at 13 deaths, or something.

((The thing is, if there were no penalties for death, then Artemis's best move right now would be to throw himself onto my cannon and help me blow his head off so he can have arms again and actually have a chance at killing something. the same goes for GWG assuming he really is stuck as a doggie. right now they're both in bad enough shape that it's probably faster for them to respawn and get a kill afterwards than to try to kill something without a death in between.))

((I don't think heating something that is right above us to a ridiculous degree is very smart. Worst case scenario we become +metal statues+. This is a finely crafted metal statue. It is encrusted with sharkmist and HMRC. On the item is an image of HMRC and Pancaek. Pancaek is laughing. The HMRC is melting. The artwork relates to the encasing of the HMRC in metal by Pancaek during the Mission of Many People.))

(I wouldn't mind a death penalty, to be honest. Though, I wouldn't exactly suicide on my part; I would be a fair sport and fight! But a death penalty is fine with me  :))

((I'll just spill it here. Every 3 deaths, you lose a stat point. Every 10 deaths, you lose a skill. Plus, it's not of your choice. It's all up to the dice.))

((So does this mean as the game goes on, it'll pretty much be inevitable to start to lose your stuff?))

Because trying to stuff Fate/Whatever's engrish and the title of a 17th century book on statecraft into Pokemon syntax tends to make the content incomprehensible.

(Oh jeez, that is actually a hard penalty right there. Losing stats for deaths? That's gonna put people at a real disadvantage, even in barely 3 deaths.)

Again, I think death penalties are bad because of momentum. If you die a bunch of times, it's suddenly more difficult to stay alive. So you die more and more, until you have no skills and 0 in all stats.

Also, losing progress in something is always annoying.

Finally, this means that attacking the boss is actually a bad idea; thus, people will be rewarded for inactivity. You can give the boss good loot to counter that, but it's still bad for those unlucky enough to be targeted by it.

Yep. I'm fine with benefits for kills, but penalties for deaths is overdoing momentum.

Hm. Well, I feel the need for penalties in some way, to discourage resets, like you guys mentioned. Maybe it'd be better as 5 and 10. Or maybe even 10 and 20. However, since I don't expect people to die TOO often, I think it'd be better fit as a lower number, seeing as the poll is also saying that boss fights will be either 5 or 10 turns after the start of a round/this round. And after a boss fight, everyone gets a little bonus thingy/full heal, as long as they didn't just hide.
