It turns out that the fortress is running significantly slower than expected, around 60 fps, so I don't think I will be done by Wednesday. Is it okay if I post the save with the year half finished?

What should I do with his guard? They're all soldiers... should I just pretend that they're normal citizens? Or should I make a separate little fortress for the monarchs that just gets tribute? Or maybe regicide?

Hooray, you just received a fresh helping of peasants! They should be quite useful for dangerous and disgusting work, with their "doesn't care about anything anymore" trait.

As to game speed - you have a full week from the point you picked up the save and you have the right to play the full year you signed up for. You can of course play less, if you wish so or if something interferes with the time you can dedicate to play.

We can definitely deal with a save halfway through the year, even if an end/start-of-year save would be preferred.

Whoa, thats never happened to me before. This could be an interesting fort. Even more interesting then I thought it would be. Good job, Charmcrafted, you just officially ascended to god tier fortress.

Whoa, thats never happened to me before. This could be an interesting fort. Even more interesting then I thought it would be. Good job, Charmcrafted, you just officially ascended to god tier fortress.

NOt really god-tier quite yet, the king is still alive... Me votes regicide, monarchs will just kill creativity with their silly mandates.... Extra points for putting his corpse in a wooden casket just outside the entrance^^

I'd say no regicide without good reason. And "mandates are inconvenient" is a bad, bad, bad, bad, bad reason. (On the other hand, "he worshipped the dwarven deity of suicide, so i let him get in touch with his god by allowing him to roam the caverns with naught but a wooden axe and a sock for equipment." would be a good reason.)

Don't kill the king on purpose, please.

About royal guards - let tem be the only military dwarves here, but the only thing they should do is protecting the king. The king only, not those peasants who swarm this place. They are royal bodyguards after all. Let them train at the royal palace forever and leave that place only when king is about to get in danger.

This is a strange thing to say but i am doing a dwarfern science experiment on the sinister biome north of charm crafted. It seems at first to rain ooze that causes mass dizziness then for odd reason the infected people turn to vabor zombies. I will find more out soon.

We seem to have one vote for regicide, and two against, so I guess I won't. My turn will be out of time on Friday, I believe, so I will post my puny accomplishments then.
