Check the <j>obs list.  It could be that all the haulers are still busy elsewhere.

Nope. I have a ton of idle dwarfs. Including migrants.

I have dumped and reclaimed the items in question, removed and replaced the stockpile, removed the carpenter's workshops that had them, switched the stocpile to an all weapons, instead of just trap components. Most of them did nothing, the last one got a few spare weapons brought to the pile.

Whelp, never did figure it out and killed my own dwarf with the minecart by accident.  Stupid me not moving fast enough.

Alright, I figured out that it has something to do with the fact that they are made out of wood, as other trap components work just fine.  I'm going to be uploading the save a little early and giving it to the next player, but this was really fun.  I'd go for another turn later, if possible.

And by a little early I mean it's like the 22 of Opal.

Up to you.  A few screenies, and a quick update, never hurts; it should be sufficient to let the next player know of any major plans, problems, or points of interest that you've left them.

Okay, a few notes on design plans: the bizarre dead ends dug directly above each other are for a magma flood project that I didn't finish. There are now walls around the whole top of the volcano becuase magma crabs kept injuring/killing our dwarfs. The minecart trap is good, but gold minecarts filled with golden crafts equals death, whereas wooden minecarts merely equal injury (or death, if you're me dwarf...)
