Ah, well with the Multiconfessional Republic idea that does sound fun, but I lack the republic DLC :(
I mean if someone who HAS it wanted to host, then that would probably work.

Also does the Ruler Designer even WORK in multiplayer games?

I've only played multilplayer a few times but  the way I've always done it is by using hamachi to create a VPN.

They dropped their metaserver support in 2.0 and are allegedly working on a steam based multiplayer system, but that might be a ways off.

WHY IS MULTIPLAYER ALWAYS SO DIFFICULT ON COMPUTERS?
SERIOUSLY, WHAT THE HELL IS A PORT?

This bugs me, why would they even bother with multiplayer if the only people able to benefit from it have degrees in networking? (Note: Hyperbole)

I don't claim I know how Hamachi works, but it works and is easy to use, so. Probably better not to dwell on it, it might be one of those 'only works if you believe in it' things.

Well all the ones that actually add more then Aesthetics anyway :P
