In the civilizations screen gobos are marked P.
I read that they should attack anyway, but they havent yet, only a couple snatchers i think.

Bad luck, i was waiting for them to test my new gate defense design.

I'm 99% sure (you can never be absolutely sure with DF) that you are still guaranteed ambushes and sieges. Their constant attacking is a product of the snatcher tag: While you are at peace, they will repeatedly send snatchers, and then ambushes, and sieges, presumably because a dwarven army is attacking them elsewhere in response to the snatches. Only removing it allows genuine peace.


I know that the gobbos are listed as peaceful in my game, but they still attack.

Man if you were at peace with the gobblos, think about all the troll fur thongs you could import.

All that P means is that you're not actively at war with the goblins. Because of the child-snatcher tag, they'll always be hostile.

A few questions:

• How long has it been? They might not attack for several years.
• How much wealth have you generated? This is a biggie
• How many dwarves do you have? This could also cause it.

Wait for a goblin caravan. Then murder their goods, burn their diplomats, and steal their wagons.

I would listen to everyon else, however in my experinece peace with goblins was actual peace.
I went for 2 full years with only hostile kobolds, and I was right next to a goblin fortress.

It should be noted, that 2 years is likely not long enough to suggest it was a permanent peace. I know my population and wealth was high enough for 2 full years, but again 2 might not be a long enough period of time.

So while my experience suggests otherwise, I'd bet everyone else is right.

I play with modest mod, which made human diplomat available, however i havent seen elven envoys yet, maybe next caravan.

OK, i murdered the elven merchants, hope they get angry now

I know that some people have reported that they can get Gobbo caravans, but I have never experienced it, nor come across any proof that the caravans actually exist. But this isn't directly triggered by the civ screen showing "P"

I like to think that for gobbos, "P" means "Passive", as in they are doing what they always do.

I dont know, 4 years, 188 dwarves and over 4.7M wealth and i only got snatchers, no ambushes, no sieges.

Well, they finally attacked. Just a small group, and got cut to shreds. One of them got both legs severed and fell down a pit where she bled to death.

It may take years for them to start their first attack, but from now on they'll arrive in larger numbers every time.
