Dwarves vs Orcs: A Masterwork Twin Succession
« on: November 17, 2013, 09:34:36 pm »

Suggested by Meph here http://www.bay12forums.com/smf/index.php?topic=133309.0, I am looking for overseers for a double/triple succession fort.

There will be 3 different saves of the same world, and each save will embark to the same site with a different race. From there, we shall see how each fort develops.

Rules:
  • No save scumming
  • Overseers can oversee multiple forts, but not at the same time
  • Overseers have 2 days to acknowledge the start of their turn, and two weeks/one year to finish
  • And most importantly: Have FUN!

In case the subject wasn't clear enough, these forts will be using Masterwork. If something confuses you, feel free to ask questions, it's a big mod.

It took awhile, but I have a world and a site scouted out. A little bit of everything, plus plenty of nearby enemies to whet our teeth on.

Well crap.  Count me in.  I'll sign up for kobold, since no one else has.  I have no idea what i am doing.  I may sign up for dwarf and orc later.  Count me as an alternate or reserve for those races.

Who needs a life?

If we are playing on MWDF v4d, we should play with the diseases off, at least until the system is refined a bit. Unavoidably dying to the black plague before the first caravan is never fun. P

I would LOVE to join. Could I take Orc? We use masterwork, right?

Nidilap likes Adamantine, Bituminous Coal, Garnets, Cats for their aloofness, Dwarves for their stupidity, and Swords for their Spikes and edges. When possible, he prefers to eat pizza, ramen noodles, and sushi. He absolutely detests elves and spiders. He needs MTN DEW to get through the working day.

A medium- sized creature prone to great ambition, but only when he feels like it.

Are there tricks to get kobold embarks to work?  I've tried embarking a few times as kobolds on my own, but i keep getting embark item errors and then they keep coming up dwarves when i start the game.  I wanted to play them a bit, but it's being wierd.

You have to actually change your civ. press tab from the site screen until it gives you a civ list. And don't worry, I had trouble with this too, you're not the only one.

I'm running completely default masterwork, and diseases are off by default. I would have turned them off anyways after reading how common they are. A starting 7 full of hospital escapees is no fun.

You can certainly start surface construction on your turn, should have enough slag laying around to start making concrete too. I'm partial to surface orcs myself.

4maskwolf, thanks.  By the way, it seems like we are shadowing each other :).  I think we keep signing up for all the same game.
