Alright. Here is the plan for the moment.

I am doing lots of school stuff and travel over the next week. I will write up responses to your IC replies between assignments as a way of rewinding. I would like to do all the required GM homebrew feats and spells and stuff on Fri the 13th, so get your part of the character sheet done before then, and then we can meet for the IC introduction session on Saturday the 14th. We will aim for a 2:00pm meeting, because I expect Kuji and I will be partying that Friday night and may not get back to my place until around noonish, and that we will want some time to recoop, but I hope to start most of our saturday sessions closer to 12 or 1 'oclock.

Should we include magic theme on our sheets?

Oh. I totally forgot about putting that on the application, didn't I? Yeah,  include a brief (1-2 sentence) description of how your character performs his or her magic on the sheet. This time, I reserve the right to veto magic themes, after Ragnarok had me scumming the White-Wolf wiki and adapting features last game. I Don't care to do that again, mostly because it is alot of work, but also because on the tiny chance this game reaches a point in development where it finds a wider, perhaps even commercial, audience, I'd like to include the events of these early alphaish games as part of the lore/world-building without having to worry about Intellectual Property bullshit...

On a related note; I realistically expect this game to last the 3-6 months my b12 Maptools games do. When this falls apart, the new version of PTU will likely be out, so I will likely do a major revamp of the rules. On that note, if you have mechanical feedback, please put it one the Official Development Thread. Some of my players are members of the official  Dev Team, and they have access to the official Dev Wishlist Page where we can discuss mechanics. Do not put mechanical complaints or feedback on this thread. I'd rather not have to dig through however many dozen pages there are when I'm ready to work on mechanics.

Rag didn't go nearly as harsh on you with the Exalted theme as he did me with the whole strippermancer debacle.

[EDIT]
Well, still missing an image since I was a big fat dumb and wrote a description without having an image in mind to use, but otherwise finished with my sheet. http://lilligo.wikidot.com/nathan-twain

Glad to see you have accepted. First step is getting you out of that nut-house soon enough so that you have time to prepare for departure in early July.

Attached to this email is a text file with a phone number. Call it and ask for Jess. She still owes Kestrel a few favors, and if you tell her who you are, where you are, and that I said that she is to get you out of there, she will get you out of there. If she wants proof that you have been contacted by me, tell her that I said her safeword is 'Jupiter'. Do not tell anybody at that number other than Jess that you have been in touch with Kestrel.

If you play the lotto numbers 10-16-19-89-17 on the week of your release/escape, you should win several thousand dollars  with which you can use to purchase gear an find a place to live until you are picked up.

We look forward to having you here.

Kestrel will see to it that you are provided a work station. You will have to supply your own supplies and likely your own ideas as well.

Please bring weapons you know how to use. They may prove useful in your new line of work. Other things Kestrel recommends bringing are warm clothes, formal clothes, personal effects to make your residence feel like home, and perhaps some books/reference materials relating to your trade. There is also a fairly large grey market for mundane drugs and porn among the lower ranking workers, so if you feel comfortable purchasing and possessing such things, they may be worth the investment.

A good rule of thumb is to bring all that you feel you need to start over a-new, and that you can fit into a few suitcases.

Kestrel will answer your questions in the order they have been asked.

1: Kestrel is what is commonly referred to as a seer or a mystic. I am a servant of secrecy itself; the harder you try to hide something, the easier it is for Kestrel to find it out.

2: Mr. Claus, like many magical employers, prefer to hire and provide training for rookies, rather than deal with skilled and experienced mages. Significant amounts of supernatural knowlege tends to come with large egos, dark secrets, and pre-existing loyalties. We would rather put up with some failure until you get caught up to speed than deal with any of the aforementioned baggage and shit.

3: The job will be challenging, rewarding, and an entirely new experience for you. You and your small team of 4-6 other operatives will be periodically deployed to various locations where you will protect what Mr. Claus needs protected, Destroy what Mr. Claus needs destroyed, and occasionally perform contracted work of a similar nature for other clients. Most danger is negligible, as Polar Industries will do its best to reverse any injury or death inured by its operatives.

4: Kestrel spends a huge chunk of his time viewing the world from perspectives other than the point of his head where his eye is located: Vaults deep beneath the sea, offices of agencies even those of the know about supernatural affairs have never heard of, the heads of those who would scheme against Kestrel and his allies (and of those I would scheme against myself), places that have ceased to be or have yet to come, and the bedrooms, bathrooms, and locker rooms of Hollywood Starlets. Very little of what I do that is important is done from the viewpoint of Kestrel Harrison, and this in part leads me to slip into the third person quite often. If it bugs you, just call me out and I'll try to stop for awhile.

First of all, Kestrel is not asking you to believe anything - just to pack up your stuff and stand outside at an appointed time. If you do that, you will have hard and irrefutable proof of the supernatural soon enough. As for your case specifically and the powers you manifest, some people find that truth a bit disturbing, so I'd rather have that talk with you about that in person, but Kestrel promises that you are easily worth at least what we are offering to pay you after but a little training.

Don't buy any of that fat and jolly nonsense. That all comes from the PR department. You wouldn't be able to pick Mr. Clause out of a crowd as 'Santa' if you didn't know him. You will likely get to meet him at some point sooner rather than later, but I doubt you will be interacting with him on a day to day basis.

In reality Nick is a powerful mage who specializes in both classic conjuration and the exploitation of the Merchant Network. He has developed a top secret and highly unnatural formula that allows him to turn a massive profit by giving stuff away and performing good deeds. With a huge market and no competition, Polar Industries has grown rather huge - the branch I run and that you will be working for is only a tiny part of a massive corporate entity.

Kestrel looks forward to having you and your massive potential aboard.

That is a fear that no man can ever truly escape, least of all somebody in your situation. The work we have for you can be violent at times, and Kestrel will concede that the possibility for incident may be a bit greater if you come than if you maintain your current lifestyle.

Still, I think you should come. Polar Industries has a good employee mental health program, and Kestrel himself has alot of experience with high risk and unstable people. Also Kestrel has it on good authority that the Court of the Ancients is investigating that peacenik hippie group you used to run with, and will come down on them hard by the end of the year. When that happens there will be nobody to pay for your housing and food.

We believe that you will do far more good than harm up here, and if you do start doing harm, we are better equipped to neutralize you than [Your Hometown Here] if you do snap.

So badass CEO Santa. Got it. And do you suppose you can't tell the obvious flattery of your message when I see it? of course, as far as I know, you are hoping to get me to stand outside my home so you know where to kidnap me, but I shall give you your chance. Please impress me, it would be a nice change of pace.

-Yuri

Yuri's powers manifest mostly as reshaping her body in dark, twisted ways, generating additional limbs or other such things, as well as powers similar to classic vampires. Obviously, much Body Horror will be involved.

Hello,

As I'm a bit curious at what you have to offer, I'll be waiting for you. But I won't accept the job until I see what it is.
As for the third person thing, it doesn't really bother me. For that money, Jacob would talk that way himself.

With kind regards,
Jacob Fletcher
Senior Technician
Anglo Belgian Corporation

Charsheet is coming up. http://eaglev.wikidot.com/jacob-fletcher

I'd like a spell (or 2, if hellburst is a no-go), a maneuver, a feature (something mechanical, preferably), and two permanent rituals.
Please let me know if I did anything wrong.
