The Slugs fire their weapons! A blue bolt impacts against the shields, and a laser would have struck the ship, were it not for the evasive captain Parade!
Highmax returns fire!
The rockets soars through space, and collides perfectly with the enemy's weapons systems! The burst laser makes short work of the shield, and damaged their generator! He shuts down the launcher and powers up the heavy laser!
The heavy laser knocks out their shield again, and the burst laser shreds the generator!
"They've got weapons online again!" Lurker called out over the intercoms!
"Not for long!" Highmax replied, pulling the trigger on his heavy laser!
"Son of a b*^&, I missed." He switched over to his trusty burst weapon.
"FIRE!"

I must say that went swimmingly, you didn't take even a single point of damage thanks to EL getting the shields back up fast enough, and EP actually dodging a shot with Olaf manning the engines.

That was why I voted the power so we don't have to alternate. I'm thinking of upgrading our engines. Weapons are important, but so is hull damage prevention. I had a ship that dodged every shot and blocked anything that managed to hit (except missiles, hwich is why I died at the final guy)

Yeah, the first game of this I ever played, I just maxed out shields and evasion.

My best run was I maximized my weapons and had two burst lasers MK III and I ripped everyone apart with boarding crew and a volley of lasers that ripped apart most ships...

Until one fight where my entire boarding crew got FTLed away by a crew that was preparing to jump

(3) Your argument gives Not-Fighter some pause.

Curse my lack of money, and then attempt to walk out the door.

(1) While cursing, you bite your tongue. Then when you try walking out, you trip on the floor. You are temporarily in pain, giving you -1 to all rolls until healed or after 5 turns.

Buy a drink for Scotsmen, since he has no money and I do.

(4) You buy Scotsmen a drink for 5 gold.

(3) You don't find a mysterous cloaked old man, but you do find a mysterious cloaked man. He offers you a quest to go clear a bandit encampment to the north of the town.
