WIZARDS AND DUNGEON CRAWLING!

I should probably make one of these topics. My threads are derail-free, but I have plenty of ideas.
Would you like for me to go derail your threads?
Maybe as payback for all the derailing you cause in mine?

Oh look, I have a steam account.
Might as well chalk it up to Pathos.
As this point we might as well invoke interpretive dance and call it a day.

I haven't caused that many derails. Only the one game. I think.

Yeah, it was really a bunch of people.

Dang it, I want to see the poll results when I go to this thread, but it keeps wanting me to vote for it, and won't let me see it unless I click the stupid button for it.

I made the thing! I shouldn't have to vote on it! It should just show me the results without me having to click anything.

Well, good thing I added the 15th option, problem solved!

Current poll results that I see.

4 votes:
E.V.O
You are an Incompetent Wizard

3 Votes:
Overseer
The Dojo
The Tower of Trials
The Journey Home

2 Votes:
The Order of Hats

1 Vote:
The Second Story
Wizard's Chest
Roll to Fizzbin
Desolation
Beyond the Charts

0 Votes:
Imps/Keeper
The Challenge

Ok, since E.V.O. is a secret project that's still in production of pretty much every aspect, that leaves me with You are an Incompetent Wizard at the highest standing.

Honestly, it's basically Wizards and Whiskey: Chapter 2.

I was hoping to have something interesting to talk about, so I guess I'll have to resort to the 3 Votes slots.

The Dojo is basically just Battle Arena: Chapter 2, with heavy tweaked rules, not really much to say right now.
The Tower of Trials is a mindless Hack and Slash game, again, not much to say.

That leaves Overseer and The Journey Home to talk about.

The Journey Home is a concept I thought of where everyone plays as a passenger on a train.
Nobody knows who anyone else is, and nobody is easily recognizable, forming a rather mystery-esque mood.
Some of the players would have special objectives that they would need to complete before the train reached home, and oftentimes would need to avoid being seen.
Due to the way that everyone can see pretty much everything that's going in in a RtD, such as other people's actions, this would need some work to do properly.

Overseer is a game based off of DF succession forts, where each player is an Overseer.
However, nobody control the entire fort.
Each player has control over a small number of Dwarves, each dwarf has a civilian profession, and military profession, and some might gain noble professions. The way that each dwarf's character sheet would work would be very heavily visually based, like a board game.
While every Overseer has their own dwarves, everyone is still on the same team, under the Mountain Home.
The game ends with only 1 Overseer standing. Since you can't fight your allies directly, you have to get them eliminated using the NPC enemies that spawn, and by using abilities that sap away at the sanity of other dwarves.
Sanity would be the biggest part of a dwarf. Whenever something bad happens; they get physically wounded, they lose hold of some helpful bonus, they get a negative effect applied to them, they watch a dwarf die, many things can cause it, they will lose their sanity.
Once they lose enough sanity to reach their threshold, they tantrum, causing some sort of random uncontrollable damage.
Every time they tantrum, the threshold drops, and will be more susceptible to sanity attacks.
When their sanity threshold hits zero, they go insane, and can enter a depression, go insane, or go berserk!
Every time a dwarf tantrums, 1 point is knocked off of the Spiral Counter. If the Counter hits zero, then a Tantrum Spiral has begun, and every player can physically attack the dwarves of other players! Turning the fort into a civil war! A crafty Overseer will be sure to weaken his allies well before the Tantrum Spiral can begin, as a single powerful military dwarf can bring a losing team to the forefront in a Tantrum Spiral.
When the game begins, there would be little resources, and everything would have to be made yourself.
Crafting using your dwarves' various civilian professions would be one of the biggest parts of the game, and you need to acquire food and booze to keep your dwarves alive and happy. The limited selection of dwarves would mean that temporary alliances would have to be made.
Have a carpenter? Not much use with out wood, and it might be someone else with the woodcutter.
Having the entire team of dwarves necessary for a metal industry might seem like a good idea, until you realize you forgot to bring a farmer.
Honestly, Overseer would be a massive game, with a ton of rules, but if I get it finished, it would basically be a competitive Dwarf Fortress Board Game.

Just trying to make something to talk about. What do you all think?

The journey Home sounds a little like a murder mystery RTD wwolin tried to do a while back, where most of the actions were done through PMs. THat might be how you'd do it in the game.

Hmm, that does sound like a good way to do it, if a bit cumbersome.
I'll have to read up on that game.

One problem is he was never able to start because of lack of time.

Can I automatically pre-in for all your games ever? Or at least the wizard ones and Tower of Trials?

That sounds like a premium upgrade, which will only cost six easy payments of nineteen ninety-five!

Or, I could just, you know, post links to games I make in this thread.
So you can find them really easily.
And stuff.

What does "dead eye shot" mean? Going to buy the rifle anyway, but still. Also, you say that items return between rounds if thrown away, but would that also apply to consumables like dynamite, med kits, and bullet proof vests?
