Well, a couple people suggested this a while back ago, and since there are at least 2 other people with threads like this, I figured why not.
I'm just joining the bandwagon before all the good seats get taken.
Also, this is to hopefully redirect some of the absurd levels of derailing that have grown quite prevalent in my games.
What this thread is for:
An archive of my games, active, inactive, or theoretical.
A brainstorming thread for ideas I may try to run.
A redirect for all the off-topic banter that would otherwise be cluttering up my junk.
If you have a question about how a game works, then go to that game's thread, unless the game doesn't have one, in which case it falls under the "brainstorming" category.
If you feel like senselessly derailing this thread in particular, then go for it, that's why I'm making it.
THE COLORING CONVENTION:Since this thread is chaotic (as it was designed for) I'm establishing some rules to help with its navigation.
Yellow should be used when asking me about one of my games or otherwise on-topic subject, such as a Poll request.
Red should be used for participating in the active Dorsidwarf game.
Blue should be used for participating in any active Elephant Parade game.
Elephant Parade has also requested you use
Purple sans when discussing his fan-art. I have no complaint with this
Cyan is to be used for any flabort-brand gaming.
Chocolate is the color of fractalman's game.
Orange is the chosen color for Freeformschooler's derail games.
Use (color=transparent) tokens to participate in the escaped lurker game.
Maroon has been taken by Darkpaladin109.
For any off-topic garbage, please don't use any colors, this includes talking to me when you aren't asking about one of my projects.
Colors may be added/changed later if further needs arise.
Active Projects:Rise of Nations: A real-time strategy game that I'm attempting to run in a turn-based forum manner. Genius, I know.
Flailing Moshpit: An inevitable failure of an attempt at poorly running a game of D&D 3.5.
Inactive Projects:The wind beneath your feet: My first attempt at running a game, and an excellent display at my poor ability to name game titles.
Complete!Guilds of the Floating Castle: A game about capturing territory and generally being a huge jerk with subterfuge. Took place in the same world as The wind beneath your feet, ended due to the large amount of work it required.
EndedBattle Arena: An arena style game that used an experimental combat concept that ultimately turned out to be way too much work.
EndedWizards and Whiskey: A minimalist game of highly violent alcoholic wizards. Ended with the tavern turning to lava.
Complete! The Avatar and the Authorities: A game where one person plays, and everyone else triggers events to get them killed.
EndedWarlock: Master of the Arcane: A Let's Play suggestion game of half-dragon half-elves with the most adorable fan art ever.
EndedLost at Sea: A build a village game of bad decisions, incompetent fools with tools, and rampant shipping.
EndedE.V.O.: A game of evolution and survival.
EndedtWoOtAPRtD: A parody of Freeform's Warrens of Oric the Awesome.
EndedRoll to shoot GreatWyrmGold in the Face: Because why not? Ended by 4maskwolf when he overshot a "kill everything" order.
Complete!Roll to Die/Revive/Dwarf/Derail: This freaking thing. My longest running game began as a throw-away idea because I was having a bad day and wanted to watch people shoot each other. The game has run through a minimalist game, a god game, a game based around Dwarf Fortress, and now it's in the stage of massive cartography, where it will begin a game of turn-based strategy.
Lost Everything from Hard Drive CrashXantalos was nice enough to make an update thread, so it's actually navigable.Six-Shooter: An arena tavern brawl of death.
Lost Info from Hard Drive CrashMainspring: An airship game devised by piecewise.
Lost Info from Hard Drive CrashX-COM: Enemy Within: A Play-by-Post Let's Play.
Lost Save from Hard Drive CrashWizardry 8: Another LP thing.
Lost Save from Hard Drive CrashTheoretical Projects:Overseer: A competitive board game idea where the goal isn't to defeat the enemy, but to be the last one standing of your allies. Involves copious amounts of dwarves, alcohol, and treachery.
The Second Story: A game that will have an actual story line to it. I've already wrote up a cast of over 20 characters.
The Dojo: The eventually successor to Battle Arena.
Imps: A game where the players are summoned imps, and have to draw heroes into your keeper's dungeon so they can be captured.
Keeper: A game where you play as the Keeper from Imps.
Wizard's Chest: A game of wizards involving magic cards to affect the field.
The Tower of Trials: Inspired by the actual Tower of Trials in my main game, it would be a very simple dungeon crawl type game with random room generation and absurd lethality.
The Order of Hats: You gain power from magical hats. In order to gain multiple powers, you must wear as many hats as possible. The more hats you wear, however, the harder it is to keep them on your head!
Roll to Fizzbin: A card game where the rules are made up and the points don't matter! Just like Jim Carrey!
The Journey Home: An experimental game concept of mystery.
You are an Incompetent Wizard: A game where you play as various mages, and try to do good without destroying everything in the process.
Desolation: A good old dungeon crawl, even though I said I probably wouldn't do another.
Beyond the Charts: A spaceship game with actual floor plans, and other stuff.
Sci-fi Quest: A game where all of Sci-fi collides. Vulcan Jedis lightsaber dueling against the Goa'uld and Cylons. Luxan Vs. Predator. The Imperium of Man takes on the bugs from Starship Troopers. It's chaos and blasters all around.
Other Junk:TWoOtA fan game: A bad Game Maker game I made based off of
The Warrens of Oric the Awesome.Dwarven Dungeons: Another bad Game Maker game, based off of Dwarf Fortress.
Here is the actual thread for it.Defend The Wall: Once again, more shitty Game Maker games.
DF 2013: The Succession World: Which I'll be starting once the new version releases.
Random whatevers:
Knights and Merchants: You should go play this game, it's awesome.
Go check this out. It's cool.I'm sure I have some other projects I've thought about, but I can't think of them right now
.Anyway, please use this thread for all your derailing purposes.
