Mastahcheese ascends upwards, way upwards. To the others, he disappears from sight entirely, even if they weren't so focused on each other. His archer's eyes can easily spot them, though.
Elephant Parade puts up a magic shield, a barrier around himself, to protect himself from the magically enraged homicidal spirits on the ground. They start ganging up another spirit that hadn't been in the range of Darkpalidin's botched command spell (very unsuccessfully), when a demon arrives on scene, attracted by the noise. He uses his massive bladed chain to knock down the crowd of souls, and mashes them into a soul-y paste. He starts casting a spell to split them back up, sort them out, and a bolt of energy surges back at him, draining out his power and causing him to disappear! This surge of energy is the tipping point needed for Darkpalidin to reform from the pieces of his soul the other souls tore off. He steps out of the puddle of soul-stuff, and claims the demon's chain, dismissing his other weapon temporarily.

Dodge: 6♠ 9♠ J♦ 6♦ 8♣: 5 successes, 2 awfuls, 1 redraw (4♠: +1 success) (Success!)

Darkpaladin attaches one weapon to the other to create a fearsome looking but ultimately worse weapon. Elephant Parade fires an equally fearsome beam that spans from alley-wall to alley-wall, and drags it across the alley in hopes of hitting his far-away target. Which would have worked, if Mastahcheese were unable to see the beam coming, or unable to duck into a window in the highrise bar. As is, it scorches his foot as he ducks away. Inside is basically a foot of beer on the floor, and a number of very drunk spirits laughing and enjoying eachother's company. Some of them are pointing at the beam of light outside the windows as it streaks past each one, but most just ignore the events taking place. Some of the demon bar tenders look up at the light, but go back to pouring beer on the floor and polishing skulls.
Grabbing an arrow from his memory of past lives, Mastahcheese accidentally grabs four at once, and puts them all to his string with one hand. He takes aim out the window, using his sharp sight to pick out his targets. (+3 redraws next turn)
Darkpaladin pulls a fairly impressive feat himself, swinging the unwieldy pole-chain in such a major arc, that it would have thrown him off balance; he keeps his balance, however, and instead his powerful stance causes the pavement to crack and crater around his feet. The blade strikes the shielded mage full on, shattering his barrier and slicing him clean in two, even slicing his tome in half! The chain then slides to a halt, spraying up a very visible trail of sparks.
