Having gotten a good look at the actual expanse of some of our nations on a map rather than in the abstract on score tables, I feel compelled to ask if 28h is working for everyone or if some of us have hit the point of needing a slightly longer turn. If we can keep churning at a day-ish per turn that's great for throughput, but I just want to make sure we're still all comfortable with maintaining our "first year or so" pace when we're coming up on year three...

A longer turn would be nice, yes.

36h? 48h? 52h?

(I'd prefer not to go past "two days-ish" at this point, but if popular opinion was in favor of it, go past it we shall...)

Current turn limit is ok by me, but 36h seems like a nice small step up the ladder.

That day came, and so did I. (Not that way, children could be reading this!)

I really ought to start managing my Thaumaturgs better - I can't afford to lose five every time a major battle happens. I suppose communion slaves dying of fatigue is just an inevitable consequence of my strategy! We'll see how the cookie crumbles, I suppose.

As for turns - I'm mostly fine right now, but I'd be alright with 36/38h too. I honestly don't need 48h to do my turns, and I think that might be a bit overkill - though perhaps others might have more involved turns due to not having to ram chaff down someone's throat until they cry uncle.

Well hmm. Since I currently can do this without suffering through my normal miserable muck-about-in-Open-Office-Calc routine, graph time! Yes, I'm giving away intel by letting everyone see Numbers You Can Trust instead of the sorta-sketchy Llamaserver tables, but meh, I'm in a giving mood...

Graphs as of Turn 35:

(Also, in honor of Turn 36, I shall be bumping the hosting interval to 36h, baring convincingly shrill objections...)

What? Wait. Where's my army?

For fuck's sake, iljacote, do you have any idea how long it took me to build it up?

Etimmu the Wraith Lord, Prophet of Orcus the Eternal Emperor, Regent in His Absence offers you his condolences, but also reminds the peoples of Bandar Log that this was not unforeseen to them. The warning was given. While Ermor may have been reduced as a result of its foreign policy in the past, and by the dire undead to their south, they are not that easy. This continued aggression between our peoples is ill-advised.

The taft-mind disagrees, remembering what ermor was like in college.  Just give ermor a few death gems and then ignore it for a bit, and you couldn't beat off ermor with a stick.

Bully! How insensitive of you to bring that up. What roused you to such hate?

Things happened, turn stale'd, lets hope nothing catastrophic happened.

EDIT: Catastrophe.

It's that time of year again! YΓA is hard at work on the Spring Repose 4AW Edition of its Brews of Valantis sampler pack, and once again is soliciting local water samples from all over the disk! This year, though, we're trying to mix it up a bit: while local waters are always welcome, the Brewmaster-in-Chief for this year's production, Brother Granite Reserve, would welcome samples of sediments and earths from foreign lands. Also, Adjunct-Brewmaster-Emeritus-in-Chief Brother Looming-Drooling-Shadow-Thing has made some very insistent silent gestures suggesting he (it?) wants - and I paraphrase - "dead things". In exchange, we'd be glad to unload some of last fall's bumper crop of Argathan "greens", pass on some rubies, diamonds, pearls... or even arrange a visit from the Ulmish Bikini Team*! Yes, you read that right!  So don't delay!  Forward inquiries to: Autonomous Keg Construction Committee (Attn: Brother Erkeborn), House YΓA, Castle Argatha, Argatha.

*Offer void in R'lyeh. But that's only fair since you already have the Olmish Bikini Team visiting, and that's even better, in'it?
