I've been rather busy recently. Finals are beginning, you see. They were supposed to start earlier, but we had a strike so they were postponed a bit.

Pushed 12h for Mictlan and R'lyeh.

Is the current hosting schedule working for people?

Edit: we're finally creeping up on starting round 404 (MA disciples!), but we could use a begintermediate sub. Nations have been selected, but pretenders remain undesigned; it's team Arco/TC/Mari, though which of the three is in need of a player isn't public knowledge. Anyone interested? It's subbing, but only insofar as your nation is picked, and you could probably still change that if the team mates blessed off on it...

I apologize this is rather late notice but could you tack on another 12 hours? My work schedule has been rough as all hell this week.

Although I'm perfectly fine with a stale as well, I need a turn to build up my gems and income either way.what income

And while I'm getting ready to stale here, tell me more about 404, I might be interested if its MA Margie we're talking about...

Do you need 12h on top of the 12h I'd already pushed hosting? I.e., 15:18 GMT Wednesday (original host time + 12h), or 03:18 GMT Thursday (current host time + 12h)? Or more simply, 12h from now, or 24h from now?

(Whenever possible, if there are turns outstanding, I check when there's an hour or so left and push hosting w/o being asked, as I did tonight.)

Edit: I'll just play it safe and push it another 12.

You'd need to ask Culise and lavenders2 what nation is open on their team - it's either Mari, TC, or Arco. More generally, though, round 404 is a MA disciple game for 4 teams of three, with a rough balancing of player experience across the teams. We picked nations via round-robin draft, and are finally about to start. Ish. Map is a custom version of Urraparand with 10 caves added, and we're probably looking at 12/6/3 and 22/33 points to win. Teams are C'tis/Argatha/R'lyeh, Ulm/Jotunheim/Asphodel, Arcoscephale/T'ien C'hi/Marignon, and Pythium/Sceleria/Bandar Log.

Fell asleep. 12h from when I posted, sorry.

I'll reach out to those two and see how it goes.

Drop in to the 404 thread, too. tompliss expressed interest in stepping in shortly after you did, but he did so in that thread. OTOH, you're probably slightly more experienced - I think, anyway, maybe - and that team doesn't have an "experienced" captain right now... although it had been two begintermediate captains before, so that doesn't change anything. Anyway, if you're interested, talk to those two, but put in a word in the thread, too.

Boksi? Are you going to be able to get your turn in before the deadline?

Postponed 12 more hours to avoid a stale for R'lyeh.

So um. We're at over 36h past original host time with no word from Boksi, who we know is currently very busy in RL. The last couple of turns suggest that letting them stale wouldn't matter, but this really isn't true; R'lyeh is in a precarious situation, but they can in principle still extract a huge price from their enemies. Or so I have good reason to believe (even if I haven't seen signs of it since repulsing a serious but utterly disastrous offensive on turn 82). So I'm kinda at a loss for what we should do...

I've got no problem with extension until we hear from Boksi.

I'm also fine with an extension. I don't think there's any worry of people losing interest in the game similarly to what happened to dom3 Round 10. The ending is in sight, at least, even if who slides to victory is still in question (or so everyone but Agartha hopes, at least :D ).

e: although there's not much chance of round 10-style burnout anyways; I think some of it had to do with frequent, long pauses between turns, but more of it was that dom 3 vanilla lategame was an awful, interminable slog. Regardless, turns in this game have been progressing at a quick enough clip that I'm not worried about a single extension.

If everyone's fine with extensive delays, I have no problem dishing them out. I suppose it's the frighteningly-consistent pace this game has managed to maintain that makes me instinctively leery of introducing delays. Round 15 survived insane delays (there was a period where 1 turn/week was making good time) and didn't end until 9 months (real-time) had passed and the last 3+1 players reached a consensus that the micro was making our souls bleed, so even in the end it wasn't the delays that killed it.

And the victor is definitely still in question. I have a very strong defensive position, so I'll be hard to beat, but that will wither and die as everyone else catches up with research, and the northern mindless hordes are well-suited to hold off the southern mindless bands until that happens. Being hard to beat doesn't make it easier for me to win, it just makes it harder for me to lose outright...

Still waiting for Boksi, obviously. I did push a reminder message out to them via Llamaserver.

Should we look for another sub, then?

edit: apparently Boksi's still active on the forums. I wonder the reason for this silence!
