Hello, fellow bay12ers. I am walking towards the market to sell some hunting loot, and, I am immediately greeted with this screen:



Anyone know whats happening? Seems like the undead are sieging the town marketplace.

Wow. I've never seen anything like this before. At least, not without a player being the cause of the zombie apocalypse. Are you using any mods?

I've heard that necromancers can take over towns on occasion, maybe that's what happened.

No, Im not using any mods. Anyway, the merchants just killed the corpses and nothing else happened. Can't find any necromancer anywhere.

One time I walked into a hamlet's house to find three huskified humans just standing there. Of course, the moment I opened the door they charged at me- swinging their little carving knives. I fought back, being an adventurer very experienced in all manner of defensive skills.

When I actually managed to land a hit on one, every normal human poured out of their houses, swarmed me, kicked and stabbed me to death, then got slaughtered by the three husks becuase stupidity.

When I actually managed to land a hit on one, every normal human poured out of their houses, swarmed me, kicked and stabbed me to death, then got slaughtered by the three husks becuase stupidity.

I think that if you had waited for the husks to attack the villagers first, they would start a huge loyalty cascade get registered as not part of the civilization anymore so you could attack them without angering the hivemind (though even with experience you probably shouldn't try to fight husks, the only way to kill them is to cut their body in half and they probably have superhuman strengh and agility)

Not agility, but their strength and toughness are triple whatever their current value is. Plus their stats and will continue to grow because the tag that stops stat growth upon becoming undead doesn't work. So they can have over six time the average strength and toughness of whatever their race is, depending on what their starting stats are. Adding to this is that their skills will continue growing.

I saw something like this way back when the release first hit. I think it has to do with a necro camp (not tower) being to close to the town.
