No, no. Donald isn't that impressive. I don't think he's a flat out potato (though my memory may be going wonky, and could be wrong), but the duck isn't very strong at all.

Dark Donald is something else entirely :P

And yeah, I think one of the twich waifus won by dent of being literally incapable of losing. Iirc, one of them has this thing where even if they get the crap beat out of them, they get credited the match. Kinda' like how the moon heals to full at the end of the match, making a full KO basically the only way to kill it, except eliminating the whole "can be beat" part.

Err, ronald, not donald. McDonalds clown guy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R9FinDQGxEg

I'm not surprised there's a dark donald duck character too though.

None of that works.

Ah. Yeah... Ronald isn't actually Dark Donald tier, at all, even though DD is basically Ronald's doom!upgrade. Iirc, he's about on par with one of the Colonel Sanders (though I don't think the Dark Sanders, whatever the actual name for that guy is)... got beat by one of the better Flashes in the one of the tourneys. And Aleti, of course, but Aleti's a beast so that's not exactly a surprise. Solid, definitely A or high B tier, but not one of the... I guess you could call them Salty Gods? Dark Donald is... well, he's Ronald, but colored mostly black and capable of roflstomping most of the game's lineup. No clue what the story behind him being named Dark Donald instead of Dark Ronald is, but... it is what it is.

If you haven't seen a Dark Donald match, well... well. That link a bit earlier had one versus Rare Akuma... in which DD trounced RA. DD's up there with dudes like Doruge and, well, Rare Akuma, heh.

There is a Donald and then some kind of jacked up Donald character, though, iirc. The former is a fairly alright potato (probably around middle of the potato pack, maybe a bit on the lower side), and I don't quite remember how the latter fared (though I imagine decently).

So how do I go about enlarging the chat seeing as the "popping it out" doesn't work?

I was  thinking about making a salty bet thread, but I see someone beat me to the punch.

I'm not that great at betting to be honest. Whenever I bet big, I usually lose. I'm one of those that justs bet a dollar on upset.

That being said I did make quite a bit of money off of a Dio Brando vs Mr.Incredible match. No one seemed to know not to bet JoJo. I also went all in on Gonzales and made a bundle, which for me is like 100 dollars.

My current balance is like 650 or so. It fluctuates.

Eh... there's a couple (few?) Dios. Iirc, the good one is, well, quite good, but is literally and absolutely identical to one of the shitty ones. No way to tell the difference. Either that or it's one of the ones with the on/off AI type situation, which is functionally the same thing, heh.

There's definitely a few Jojos you bet on, though. Petshop's usually good for a show, as is Jotaro and I think one of the ones just called Jojo (though it might be Jo Jo, ha). Then a few others. Jojo's actually got, well, probably five or six solid chars among them, maybe a few more. They make me some bank occasionally :P

Well yeah, Brunos pretty good and Giorno pulled off an upset for me. Kira in his disguised form is pretty good too.
As much as I like Jotaro, every-time he shows up he bites the dust HARD. Also, Pet Shops in this? Interesting, is Iggy present too?

Also, are there any characters you bet on out of principle no matter how hard they suck. I usually can't help myself from betting on Daibanchou characters, especially Heita.

Yeah, Iggy's in this. He's... not entirely terrible? Hitbox char, took down some fairly tough guys, but folds pretty easy. Pretty fun to watch, potentially good for an upset.

Petshop, on the other hand... Petshop is pretty brutal. Has a good chance to wreck anything that doesn't have a solid rushdown AI. Spam like goddamn, some other stuff going on for him. He won a tourney that involved one of the actually good Gokus.

Seriously though, if you see the blue coat Jotaro named just Jotaro, that's probably a decent bet. Same for, iirc, the one just called Jo Jo. One of those two are actually flat out brutal, approaching AC Burst level, and the other isn't far behind. The better Dios (there's actually a couple, but one's an altered dio of some sort... forget exactly what) are about on par with the lesser of the good Jotaros.

I forget the name, but if you see a girl riding a pig with a two three letter words , she's a fairly safe bet as well. As in she's trouced everyone I've seen her fight.

That'd be Rin Rin. Also colloquially called Sejuani by the chat, at times :P

Rin Rin matches are great, especially when the other side actually puts up a fight. Pig waifu will mess you up.

IIRC the tournament before the last, Twitch Waifu Chan took two rounds against Dark Donald, even though she lost the match. The key to DD is that he has absolutely bullshit healing, so the only way to kill him is a powerful and long enough combo to kill him without letting him get a counter in. Which is nearly impossible, given that it's fucking Dark Donald.

Heh, I remember being surprised, actually by a match I saw a while ago. It was that strange golden no-animation dude that turns into a spaceship vs. Naruto. Obviously the shitty animu was the underdog, but it kept clutching with that replacement move, and actually nearly won. It's remarkable how clutch that can be.

On another note, the Sora that comes with the Aerith doll is fucking retarded against anything that doesn't have full-screen moves, because Aerith will rush up and die, and the enemy will keep attacking her dead body while Sora jumps in, attacks, and then runs away to heal.

Well, my interest in this likely won't last since I've already gone below $100. Still a small amusement.

I dunno bout ya'll, but I like actually playing MUGEN, rather than watching the AI beat the crap out of itself. :P

Survival's fun until you actually face something like Rare Akuma, unless you don't put such stuff in your roster.

But the optimist sees injustice as something discordant and unexpected, and it stings him into action.

Eh, if you break bank it'll go up to a bailout limit. 20's the base, which raises as your level increases (which happens as you make bets). If you're looking to make money, really, the best option that doesn't involve spreadsheets or automation is simple flat memorization. After several hundred matches, if your memory's good enough, you'll start being able to make good predictions as to who will win 'cause you'll have seen both fighters at work before.

Of course, after over nine hundred matches bet on, and probably a few hundred more not, I still haven't seen all of the roster, and there's still more than a handful of dudes (especially among the trickier fake ones) I can't recognize well enough to bet on well. So... yeah.

I dunno bout ya'll, but I like actually playing MUGEN, rather than watching the AI beat the crap out of itself. :P
Eh, I'm terrible at fighting games, and half the fun of Salty is just the scenarios that occur. S'a lot of just... great stuff. Watching the Asteroids ship blow up Darth Vader is wonderful. Seeing Nanoha XP beat the everloving shit out of everything, etc., so forth, so on. It's better than TV.
