Probably a bunch of people doing that, with rotating obfuscated IPs and multiple accounts to avoid detection. I doubt any one person is getting more than 1% of the freebies. And considering they're doing the sale and getting profit from it, I doubt they need to put a stop to it.

The tiny, beleaguered optimist in me says the GOG people care about it and would like it to stop, though. Unlike many other companies whose employees have no damns to give.

I mean they are very generous with free promotions in general.  Some months ago I got a free copy of Fallout and Torchlight from them and I wasn't even a paying customer at the time.

I'm not trying to buy anything (or get any of the free things), and I still think this is just awful. I'm certainly not going to stare at GoG for the next 6+ hours hoping for something I'm interested in to appear, and then rush to try to buy a copy before they all get snapped up by people with macros or something (Or just by the effect of lots of people trying to buy something popular without enough copies to go around).

I just finished Durlag's Tower and got through the Kora-toh mod for Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition in the time it took to sell 24 copies of Jack Keane. I could kill Sarevok easily by the time it finishes but I would have to go through the Rogue's Labyrinth, yuck.

It seems that to most people $10 seems to be to high a price for this one.


I actually like this sale idea.  A decent way to see what people want and will pay for.  Also smells a lot like a black friday sale.

Actually, it looks more like they created a wiki for the sole purpose of messing it up.
