Well then, stand correct. Still too much effort to go to over a silly sale.

Read the reviews. Apparently Jack Keyne is some kind of legendary game that redefined gaming forever and can cure diseases.

I'm sorta pissed about this... i was looking to try to get Don't Starve and this pig of a game came in and wipe out 1/2 of my buying period time.  :(

You could go and release your rage on the quote-unquote "wiki."

I just wanted to note, for posterity, that apparently Jack Keane 2 came up for free for fifteen copies just now. Didn't last nearly as long as it did with 400 copies at 12 bucks or whatever it was.

Funny how that works.
I caved and ended up buying Megabyte Punch. I watched some short playthroughs on youtube and it looks like some decent fun for the price.

Managed to get don't starve via a lucky timed site check :)

Also keane was only 100 copies and took 4 hours.  The gog forum comments and fake reviews were hilarious though.

It's at least the third time it's been offered.  So at this point anyone who wanted it has gotten it.

Also games that are selling over $2 seem to take a very long time.

Yeah that's because most of the games on GOG are under $10. And they're worth under $10. I'm not saying the games are bad, but they're generally so old that you would find them at your local general goods store next to the "500 game bundle" compilations in clear cd jewel cases. When people see the sales for $2, $3, free, then a $12? Nobody is gonna buy that.

Also, I've played a couple of the free games on GOG and they're nice. Free is nice. But they're not blockbusters. Got Torchlight for free from them (it was a short time promotion I think) and enjoyed it. I've received a freebie from a drawing on these forums - Hemmingjay I think - and enjoyed that game. I also bought a couple games from them. Wish GOG's business model would succeed and kill Steam (and all the Steamlikes). But too many people are willing to live with Steam-style DRM.

I like Steam a lot more than GoG, personally (and have bought things from both).

I humbly disagree :P

Few of the other free GoG ones are classics/excellent, too.
