Climb down and practice stepping through the shadows, and attempt to use the connection between shadows cast by the same light source, or between shadows of the same object from different light sources, to step from one shadow to another without crossing the space in between them.

TURN TWENTY-FOUR: SISTERS OF THE GLITCH

"That depends on what Your Majesty's question is - if ma'am wishes to know what I know of the general happenings on the island, well, lava and ice began raining from the sky in a very apocalyptic and unnatural manner, though not uniformly across the island - the way the fleet seems to have been destroyed, but not the neighborhood I was hiding in, for instance, may indicate a degree of agency behind this event rather than simple randomness. But this is simply guesswork."

"If Your Majesty wants to know of what happened to her specifically after last seeing me and Ms. Kether, well, I'd assume ma'am went back to this complex after our meeting - ma'am did seem rather confused during the event, possibly due to some sensitivity to the events affecting reality that may also be at the root of ma'am's dreams, and while it did not occur to me to follow ma'am to make sure of her safety in such an affected state, it may have been a sensible course of action in retrospect, and one that I rather regret not taking."

"As for what I did instead, Your Majesty, I cowered as any sensible individual would in the case of such an emergency, particularly after the apocalyptic events began. During my cowering in a house I met a family of people who should not exist - three in number, a mother and two children. I seemingly saved the mother's life through concerted effort, as she seemed rather ill and insensible when I found her, and also the children's only guardian. Only later did I find out there was more to them than at first appeared. I have spent some time with them since, and while they do seem fairly normal, there is something off about the group. The boy whose name you mentioned in particular."

"Now, Your Majesty, I have been very much honest on a great many things, and I will be honest on this as well - it appears that ma'am knows a great deal about this situation, far more than the knowledge I have mustered so far. And in matters such as these, honesty is definitely the best policy - otherwise, no cooperation on finding solutions can be performed. And I would very much prefer it if this whole business could be solved as efficiently as possible."

Eh Ah
The Empress paces around the room, occupied with her thoughts as she takes in the information that you give her and forms her own conclusions with it. Secretly, of course.
"Well then," she sighs softly. "There was not much of what you said that I could not have figured out sooner or later. However, time and knowledge are both armaments of the wise ruler, so I do thank you for obliging me in this request."
She strides around the room, quietly thinking to herself. On the horizon, you can see the shapes growing larger. It appears to you that those shapes are ships that stretch across the entire horizon and outwards - a much, much larger fleet than last time. You're not even sure if the ships are heading towards the island - it wouldn't seem to be the case. No, they seem to be making their way across the ocean to some foreign lands.

After putting up with her incessant pacing around and muttering to herself for quite a while, watching the ships crawl ever so closer on the ocean's stomach, you decide to speak up.

This would not have been the best thing to say, as is apparent now. Seira stops pacing around and stares at the ground, almost like a statue with her lack of movement. Her voice is small and cracked.
"Honesty." she giggles with intensity, writhing her hands and bowing over herself in an almost insane fashion. "What do YOU know about honesty? Honesty doesn't exist - has never existed - for me! Not now, not ever! All of my life, I've been fed lies. Told that I was going to be some royal freaking slouch, sitting back on my jade throne, watching over all of my subjects. My cousin told me that I'd NEVER make it anywhere out of a comfy palace. He told me that HE would change the world, that HE would kill the Jaunatne. Goddamnit, if no one would give me the truth, I would search for my own truth. I would understand what this war was really about!"
She grits her teeth, moves over to the desk, pulls out a dagger and slams it into the wood of the desk. She takes a few moments to slow down her breathing, and begins speaking again.
"I was told by my family that this war was what we needed to save the world. I was told that the Jaunatne were always evil, and that my cousin was going to destroy them and bring us to a balanced, just world. I didn't accept that. I didn't want to be second-hand to Apollo, so I took things into my own hands and drove this war forward. I never took a moment to stop and think of what I was actually fighting. That... that is why I came to Atis. To find the answers."

She turns the chair around and falls back into it, slumping back and sighing with a tired tone.
"You seem to have a better grasp of the situation than any of the idiots that I've managed to get barely a word out of during my time here. I cannot even trust my own military any more. Small whispers and shallow looks that spell a hatred for a long-gone leader." She quickly stands out of the chair, takes the dagger from the desk, and examines it. "I am asking you to be my adviser here. Trust has, since the beginning of this war, been an outdated fallacy that has no place among the thieves of the world's peace. I need someone new that I can trust. Someone with the vision to grasp a situation quickly and use that information well. I am trusting you on this. Will you accept?"

Warren Drake
"Green is good, right?"
Just in case, step away from this energy. Check if you can manipulate it with the power of your mind. That should be a good indicator of whether it's yours.
The energy continues to roll its way up along the tree and towards you. You cautiously back away for a little, before realizing that this might indeed be a good omen. Maybe something will go your way for once. That would be a first. The green energy seems to be pulsating in a radial fashion outwards, networking its way between all of the trees and vegetation in this wetland. You focus again on the one strip of green energy that is making its way up to you, hopefully to give you a great gift.

The cord of green light finally makes its way up to you and connects with you. The first thing you can feel is a sharp tension going through your whole lizard body, as if a spike went through your back and caused your muscles to involuntarily contract all at once. You cry out a little bit in your lizard-hiss as the green energy crackles and engulfs you, bathing you in a light that is soft and choking at the same time. You remain in this struggle between uncomfortable healing and electric force as your body heats up. Finally, you relax as the energy saps itself away, falling back down the tree and into the roots. The energy of the forest fades back, and you can hear the business of the wetlands once again.

Your body definitely feels warm, at least. More so, you feel charged, both mentally and physically. One oddity is that you think that you can still see a faint outline of that same network of energy. It seems to be burned into your vision, as if it exists through your mental pathways now. There seems to be a strong line of that energy that leads up next to the river and moves up north.

use a large, straight spike of ice and some water to land safley behind the armored vehicles
Alex Raman
((I'm kinda confused by how you intend to use a spike and some water to carry yourself behind armored vehicles, but I'll use my imagination for this one.))
Deciding to use your powers for a quick and easy way to make it past those vehicles, you manipulate the snow on the mountain behind you compact it into an extremely dense chunk of snow. Not technically ice yet, but it's good enough to count in a situation like this. You carve several parts of it to make it more circular and pointed, much like a spike. You create several of these and align them in a circle around you. Once you think you are ready, you motion downwards quickly and the spikes slam into the ground around you, bending inwards and propelling the snow below you - including you - into the air. It is an odd maneuver in retrospect, but it worked fine. The problem now is that you are flying through the sky at an unsteady pace towards what is most likely a hard surface consisting of rock and ice, near the wall of the city. Thankfully, you're not going to land very close to the vehicles, but you still have the risk of dying here and now.

You focus on the ground below you and look for some ice. The best you can find is a mix of mud-and-ice sludge that barely passes for ice, but it will have to do. You struggle to manipulate it upwards and try to make a seat for you to land. You're already falling towards the ground and have too much velocity to focus your energy down enough. Three seconds, two, and then one. Impact. You hit the mud-and-ice mixture that you made out of the ground at a painful speed, breaking the structure and slamming through to the mud on the ground. At first, you cannot feel anything in your body, which is worrying to say the least. However, soon you regain your feeling and the pain shoots through your body.

Strong pain throughout your body.

You have landed about ten meters from the black brick wall that looms above you. You can hear the soft hum of several vehicles nearby as they make their way out of the gate that welcomes you into the dark city. This should be fun.

Create a golem with 8 arms, used to make more golems. Call him a Creator class, and call all the others "Civilian class." Idly command the two golems that mined the best to dig down deep and find lava. I will need it for my forges.
Rune
(4 + 2 [domain-focus successful] = 6; 2 + 2 = 4; 1 + 1 = 2)
You walk up near the plentiful clay that the golems have dug out. Thankfully, it's not too deep that you cannot see it, but it's still pretty difficult to see. You can still, however, feel the clay and its malleability. You decide that it would be best to have a golem that is able to do the work of making clay into golems, with more efficiency than you. Meanwhile, you send the two other golems that worked particularly hard to make a tunnel going down to what should preferably be lava. The first of the two manages to dig down to a warm bed of rock, you observe. This should lead him to lava soon.

However, the second golem is not so lucky or skilled. Maybe it's just that you didn't focus enough mindpower on him. Oh well. He doesn't manage to find anything in particular. In fact, you can see that he has dug a tunnel that stretched far off to the left of the other tunnel, pretty much in the opposite direction of the warm bedrock that the other one found. Despite this, you continue working on shaping clay to make a giant, eight-armed golem for use in the creation of other, smaller golems. And then those golems will create even smaller golems! It's almost like matryoshka dolls, but with clay golems who could probably smash you under their feet if you so pleased. Of course, you wouldn't think about that unless you were suicidal.

You complete the golem and it stands there, watching over the tunnels that separate down in an attempt to find some lava. With eight arms, four eyes, and a swirly pattern on the back. Hey, no one's telling you not to put some decorations on the clay monoliths!

Wonderful, thank you! Cecil chirps with a smile on his face, as he walks off toward the Information Commons.

Maybe now I can actually learn a little about the area. He thinks to himself as he heads towards the building.
You make your way over to where the nice lady pointed you over to and find what appears to be the Information Commons. From the front, it appears to be a rounded building that goes up about three or four stories, smaller than most of the skyscrapers but certainly not a dwarf in this city. The main color is, once again, varying shades of black and grey. The double-doors at the front are thin and made of glass, which gives the entire facade a new-age technological feel. On the second story and above, you can see that several parts of the building are built with glass walls. Without further ado, you allow yourself to enter the building.

From the entrance, you can already tell that the city is into complexity. The entrance itself is relatively tame: a simple room with some light decorations and an overall simple style. Once you get past the entrance, however, things start to get confusing. The first floor is centered around an ascending staircase that leads into a network of catwalks which thread their way between suspended hallways and bookcases. From the floor up, it looks like a combination of a maze and a container shipping yard that was packed together in a rough fashion. Well, it's no use simply standing around. You look around for the nearest person and ask them for some help.

"Excuse me sir, do you know if there's some sort of history book for this area?" You ask with a cheery tone.
The man, an older gentleman with a plaid shirt and a brown coat, chuckles and replies to you. "Oh, well, I'm not sure if we have something exactly like that. But I do know we have a history section. Just get up to the Third Set and look for 3K, you should find what you're looking for there."
"Thank you sir, I hope you have a nice day!" You didn't get a lot of information from what he said, but it's enough to get by. You begin climbing the stairway and make your way to the third floor, the box-like containers with bookcases within them opening their way to you. You look left and right through the catwalks, hoping to find "3K". You see that there is a combination of numbers and letters on each box, but you can't seem to find this "3K." Disappointed, you go to the nearest container anyways and grab the first book you can find.

The best you can discern from the book is the area of this place. In the book is a map that shows you that you are on the north-eastern shore of the Survatan continent, in the city called "Makoi." To the east of Survata, you can see a tiny island that is a dot in comparison to the Survatan continent. You know that place. Atis.
The rest of the Commons is busy. It is not packed, but there is enough conversation around here to make you curious. People around you, above you, and below you repeatedly mention some weird name that you haven't heard before. Along with that, you keep hearing "Atis" and "Jaunatne" mentioned in various conversations.

Lirian
"Well, I might as well get started practicing then. Feel free to help."
Climb down and practice stepping through the shadows, and attempt to use the connection between shadows cast by the same light source, or between shadows of the same object from different light sources, to step from one shadow to another without crossing the space in between them.
Lirian
Before waiting for a response from her, you drop down from the tree and begin testing out your abilities with crossing the shadows.
"I can't help you any more than you can help yourself, is what I was told when I barely started where you are. I can only prime you for the beginning, and frankly, we're already nearing the end of all these shenanigans. I hope. Anyways, I'll be hanging out in the limbo between the Medium and the real world. Call me if you need me."
You don't bother to look back, assuming that she has already left. You step into the shadow of the nearest tree and calm your breathing rate down, preparing yourself for the movement. Last time, it was jarring and a unique sensation to have your body move in almost an instant through time and space. Now, you'll be prepared. One, two...
"He also told me that the Shadow lives within every one of us, but our fight was with how we accept the reality of the Shadow and use it to help discover the truth. What that means is your decision alone."

You snap a quick look back to see if she is still there. It doesn't appear to be so: the leaves are rustling and the breeze is nice and flowing, but she is nowhere in sight. Now that she has left, you continue practicing with this shadow teleportation. Over and over, you run through the shadow of the trees, focusing on the opposite side of the forest. About 30% of the time you succeed and a feeling of ice in your veins goes through the entirety of your body, making it painful for the tenth of a second that you teleport. Once on the other side of the forest, however, you seem to be fine. The other 70% of the time, you feel like an idiot, trying to run through the shadows and finding that nothing happens. It's a mixture of feelings that this might be real or it might all be just a dream. Nevertheless, you continue, and every time you teleport, you feel even sleepier. It's as if you pull a little bit of the shadows with you whenever you teleport. Finally, it is too much for your brain. You fall down in the meadow and close your eyes, losing sight of the volcano and the treeline that are the symbols of your Medium.

Aptitude in your Domain has increased. Unfortunately, not enough to obtain an extra level in Domain yet, but getting there.

You wake up under the sheets of the bed that you were sleeping in before. The same glass wall facing the town, the same door and simple, crystalized decor covering the solid walls of the building. Yes, you're no longer in the Medium. On the opposite side of the room, you can see Cromwell Jackson, murmuring to himself in his sleep. His kitten is still curled up in the bag that he brought along, which is currently sitting on the floor near the door. You wait a minute, listening for any odd sounds or sights outside of the glass, but you don't think that anything is out of the ordinary. Just as you are about to get out of the bed, you hear a soft knock on the door.
"Good morning, breakfast is ready!" You get out of the bed and listen a bit more for anything suspicious. Still nothing except the occasional shifting of feet. After about half a minute more of this, the door is knocked once again. "Hello? Are you awake?"

Diana checks her pocket, remembering she left in a hurry and lack money
Maybe she could find some work at the market
Diana Crown
It would not be unwise to find a place to obtain some money. After all, money would allow you to access some better sources of information and tools to piece this whole situation together.  You decide that the market would probably be an easy place to get some work, so you look around the center of town until you can find the market. Here, you can see long, unorganized rows of food and small toys thrown inside of crates and up for sale. Different people mix around the toys and the food, looking to buy something nice for themselves. At the end of it all, you can see a lady standing behind a bar, bartering and making transactions. You decide that she would probably be a good person to look for work from.

"Hello, miss. What would you like to buy?" You tell her that you are not interested in buying anything today; Rather, you are looking for work, being the stranger to this town that you are. "Oh, some work, is it? Well, I don't have anythin' right here for ya to work on. But I know that you could work with the gatherers down south. Maybe you could find some good fruits for this market. If you could do that, I'm sure you'd get some good pay for your work. Try looking for Mister Luthen at the south side of town, near the river. Maybe he can find something for you to be assigned to." She asks you to wait for a minute while she sells some vegetables to a nice-looking man and his two children.

"Well, I haven't seen you often around here. Are you new, or something?"

Author's Note: Fluctuations in the storyline are always interesting for everyone, so long as they are not drastic and do not mess with the flow of the game.
As always, have fun and a great week to you all,
Artemis.

For now,  burn wood or coal to heat a slab of stone, and set the creator to bake. Have the miner Goldman who die well finish with the lava job, and have the others excavate a large room with a slab separating the top and bottom. If lava is poured in the bottom, the slab will heat up, allowing me to bake clay on it. Now, all that is left to do is move said lava into the bottom chamber.

"Yes, I'll be out in just a moment."
walk over to Cromwell and shove his shoulder on the side that seems least likely to be able to hit me from if he attacks in response.
"Hey, wake up!"
Then put things back how they were before I moved the furniture. Next open the door, casually checking both sides of it and the ceiling above as I step out, and if the speaker offers to guide me, let her. at food, wait to eat until I've seen someone else eat the same food type as I want, and pick my own utensils/plate/etc rather than letting someone pick them out for me.
try to avoid being obvious about what I'm doing.

at the meal, ask for directions to sources of income.

She runs her fingers through her hair and faces out towards the horizon again. The ships are moving very close to the island, although it would seem that only a couple of the ships have a course set for the island itself. From what the Empress has been saying, it would seem that these are the ships that are to stage the attack on Survatas.

"Well, it is quite simple, really," she manages to say with an exasperated tone. "Your intuition with the situation at hand is very valuable, or at least a trait to be admired in one person. Therefore, you should be my counsel in such matters. Quite frankly, a paradigm shift in the balance of power that I once held has driven me to seek new guides in my course of action. That would include you. Now, what is your name?" She waits until you give your name to her, and then begins to speak again, this time with a slight grin on her face.

"Now then, shall we act as the welcoming party for my fleet? I am sure an establishment of power is necessary now. Let's not keep them waiting."

Notice: Sorry about the late update. I've been busy with some extra work during these early days of July, which means I've been bogged down in terms of the extra stuff that I can do. However, I should have the update done by tomorrow. It might be later in the evening, but it will be up then.

Thank you for your patience and I hope you all have a great night/day,

TURN TWENTY-FIVE: SHINING ALEXANDER

Random.org is down. Nooooo!

Eh Ah

"I would certainly accept, Your Majesty, and am greatly honored by the way ma'am places her trust in me. What would this position exactly entail, if I may ask?"
Eh Ah [autoaction]
You agree to the Empress' proposition, at least for the moment. It will serve as a closer connection to some higher sources of knowledge, at the core. If you ever need to bail, well, it can't be that hard to avoid a foreign noble on a familiar island - unless, of course, she has already accustomed herself to the nature of this odd place.

The Empress leaves you alone on the top floor of the Government Complex while she plans for the arrival of the ships. It takes a good while - to the tune of about four hours - but she eventually returns for you. Her facial expression would tell you that she is not exactly happy about the situation at hand. Behind her, an aide follows closely, scribbling with a pen as the Empress speaks with a frustrated tone.
"...send Lioth Team to observe the ships for any specific markings or insignias, and... oh, Mr. Ah. Why don't you follow me?" She takes you abruptly by the arm, looking you straight in the eye with determination and purpose. "I wish for you to learn the magnificence of my power. After this meeting, we may get work, I do think. Shall we?"

The three of you, plus a few more guards and some other logistics commanders that accompanied the initial invasion forces. The Empress' group, you included, travels from the Government Complex down south to the dock that is hugged by the bay. You observe the crowd that surrounds you. Various military personnel, young and old, chit-chatting among themselves. A pretty uninteresting group, yet there is one thing that you do notice: they all have dull eyes. None of them seem particularly interested or even entertained by the situation. You would even go so far as to think that they are somewhat annoyed by the Empress, which is something you had not seen before - before, they seemed either in fear or in submission to the Empress. Something to keep in mind, perhaps.

You watch as the large cruisers make their way by the island, the dark, fierce watercrafts that they are. One of the cruisers slows down near the northern tip of the island and dispatches several smaller landing boats to arrive on the island. The ones that your party is to greet. Finally, the small military ships turn their way into the bay and arrive at the dock. You count three small boats total that are currently landing the group of Theyin Empire troops onto the island. There seems to be about thirty-two troops in total, including several high-ranking officers and one other person in a light cloak. The officers shout out various commands and the troops raise their weapons, looking for and identifying the Empress' group. Without warning, a hand grabs onto your shoulder.
"Who are yo-" You feel the hand get pulled off of you.
"I would refrain from harassing my adviser if I were you. Get back in line!" Seira Theyin hisses at the soldier, who promptly jogs back to his own group. The cloaked man briskly walks forward and stops. You can't get a good look at him, seeing as you are on the left of the group and he is facing to your right. Yet, you can hear his voice. Strong, calm, and clear.
((If this text color bothers anyone, please let me know.))
"So, Seira. You managed to lose your whole fleet?" Seira laughs with an annoyed tone.
"Very funny. Yes, my fleet was destroyed by a supernatural attack. All of my naval troops, gone. My ships, at the bottom of the ocean. All because the universe decided it wants to give this world a little shake-up." The cloaked man stands motionless.
"I suppose now would be as good of a time to tell you, then."
"What? Tell me what, now? And refer to me as "Your Highness," dammit! It matters not if you are of the same blood as I am, cousin!"
"Well, Your Highness, the people of the Central Theyin Empire have seen it fit to appoint me as the Commander of the Her Majesty's Armed Forces."
"Who gave you the right to command? I am the commander of my forces, and no one else! Claiming to do so is treason!" Seira draws a pistol from under her own cloak, causing an unsteady split between the two groups of the Theyin Imperial troops. "GO TO HELL, APOLLO!"
Before anyone can respond, she fires her pistol directly at the cloaked man. All you see in the next few moments are flashes of electricity. You can hear the bullet land harmlessly on the floor in front of the man, Apollo. Next, you hear Seira yelp out. She lets go of the pistol, her hand slightly burned by a blast of light. Apollo removes his cloak from his head. You can see that he has golden hair that is done perfectly, along with his shining, golden eyes. He has a face that could have belonged to an immortal being.

"I ask you to acknowledge your new Commander, Apollo Devicus."

Warren Drake

Follow the strong line, but do so cautiously. You wouldn't want to blunder into yet another close encounter with beings of terrible power, would you?
Warren Drake
You begin to follow the glowing green trail that snakes along the side of the river. You know not what it is there for or why it exists, but it's your only lead thus far. After all, the only other option is to die of hypothermia, so might as well get a move on. You follow the trail for about ten minutes before it diverts off from the river and moves down into the deeper wetlands, over the mountains and the plateau down south. Still persistent, you continue following the trail without too much hesitation.

Eventually, tired and in desperate need of food, you come to a much deeper point of the wetlands. It is warmer down here than it was up at the arch, which is a good thing. However, the glowing trail has not dimmed itself down yet - in fact, it has only grown stronger. Hopefully, this means that you are getting closer to the source of the light. Finally, you reach a circular clearing with a rather large tree in the middle. The air is lighter here and the wind has picked up somewhat. In the middle of the clearing, you can see the someone sitting down, petting two ocelots that have run up to him or her.
"Oh, who's a good little kitty? You are, oh yes you aaarree!"

Rune
((I'm assuming you mean "golem" and "mine well," because that's a pretty awkward sentence otherwise.))
Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)
This is becoming an elaborate project now. Soon, you will have a factory complex up and running right under the noses of everyone living on Atis! Specifically, a factory meant to produce golems which will be under your every command. You should waste no more time on thinking, now is for work. You, with your mental prowess, command the golems to begin digging for some lava and for a workbed for your production. You, specifically, move up and out of the underground in order to look for a log to burn. You're quite dizzy from being underground for so long, but you get over it soon enough and find a tree that was knocked down due to the explosions from the invasion. You prefer not to think about the invasion for too long and head back underground.

You spend some time down in the underground, looking for some good flint to spark up a small fire on the log. Finally, you find a couple of good pieces of flint that should suffice for your work. You scratch them together several times and manage a spark for the fire, which you create right under the golem. It's going to take a longer while, but at least the fire has been started.
(Ergo, one more turn and it should be done.)
Meanwhile, you venture downwards a bit more and find that the golems have struck magma. Praise the miners! Well, not really - I mean, it's just magma. Whatever, though, it's good enough to work with. You allow them to dig a small trench that leads to the excavated room that the other golems have dug out. Now, you have a small flow of lava heading down into the bed under the rock. This should allow you to create your own oven for the clay and produce golems on a wider scale now.
Behind you, you hear a high-pitched whine coming from the direction of the cavern. That, and you can see a faint glow coming from higher up in your tunnels...

Drain moisture from the ground an  use the nutrients to heal myself
Alex Raman
Disheveled from your launch into the sky and subsequent hard landing, you attempt to draw some life from the ground in order to heal yourself. Calling on the moisture from the snow and the wet dirt, you force the water to rise to the surface and hopefully deliver something that heals you. Apparently, it delivers just the opposite instead. You sit up and wince in pain as many minuscule points of ice prick into your skin and your back instead, much like tiny thorns composed of frozen water. You spend a good while taking these little spikes out of your shirt and begin focusing on finding a way in the city. As for the ice, it doesn't seem that your power favors the healing aspects of the environment. You did a pretty good job in destroying a bunch of stuff, however.

Near you to your left, you hear some conversation. You can only pick up bits and pieces over the noise of the vehicles, but it seems to hint at something you can follow.
"...anyways, you hear about that Vicks guy?"
"Yeah. Vicious, or something? Heard it from TO Macro. Told me that the guy planned to take over the military, something like it."
"Is that why 43rd Kolos is mobilizing now?"
"I think they've been on that for a while now. Jaunatne's stepping up their game, y'know. The first TESS troops are gonna land on the shores in a couple a' days."
"Damn. Hope they reestablish comms with the Atis teams. The Empress too."

Lirian & Cromwell Jackson [autoaction]
You arrange yourself and begin to move the furniture pieces back to their proper place. After you are sure that the furniture looks like it should be fine, you walk over to Cromwell and give him a good shove, telling him to wake up. At first, he is drowsy and incoherent, but he eventually comes to his senses and gets himself straightened out. Once the two of you are ready, you cautiously open the door and look around for anything that might be able to threaten you at the moment. As far as you can see, there is no danger in the immediate vicinity. All you can see is a girl standing in the hallway and a fluffy white cat standing beside her. Again, as far as you can see, there is not much potential for the girl to overpower you or hurt you. The cat might leave a few scratches if it attacks, but nothing too bad to worry about.

((I'm going to change the dialogue color for this person to something I feel suits her more.))
The girl gives a small smile and bows slightly. "Good morning, I hope slept well! My name is Erin Kito, and this is my cat, Tileno. Say hi, Tileno!" The cat slurs out a long, drawled meow. As for the girl, you can see that she has light blonde hair that is done in a ponytail. She also has pale skin and a teal, woolen sweater. Her glasses and blue-green eyes seem tired, as if she's spent a while awake. "Well then, breakfast is waiting! Would you like to join us?" You agree tentatively and follow behind her, Cromwell exchanging glances with his kitten a few times.

You head over to the left branch of the complex. The decor seems to follow the same pattern as the room and the entryway, although the design seems to follow a lighter tone than before. You follow Erin through a couple of doorways before you come to a room with glass walls on both sides, and a simple, pentagonal doorway on the opposite side. In the middle, there is a glass table with simple chairs on all sides. You check all of the seats for anything that might be dangerous. After you ascertain that the room is safe, you take a seat along with Cromwell.
"Alright, I'll be back with the meals. Please, do make yourself comfortable." You can see that utensils are placed at regular intervals according to the positions of the seats. Nothing really seems to be out of the ordinary. You take a couple of the utensils out of their pouches and find nothing wrong with them. Cromwell still trades glances with his kitten, which is meowing quite frequently now.
"I think that Tileno cat is what we're looking for here. We might want to talk about the cat sometime later..."
Erin arrives through the pentagonal door with a tray carrying noodles, seafood, and some grains. "I prepared something simple but delicious at the same time. I hope you like it!" Her father appears soon after and greets the two of you once again. You wait until everyone gets settled and begins eating. As far as you can see, nobody is choking or being poisoned right now, so might as well eat to not attract attention. The food is warm and refreshing, considering that you have only eaten a few seeds on your way here. It is nothing short of a delicacy compared to your arrival on this new land. Without wasting time, you begin to ask some questions for the two of them.

"This meal was nice, thank you. Is there somewhere I can work? We might be staying for a little while, so that would be great information."
Erin thinks to speak, but she whispers to her father, letting him take over for her.
"We don't really have too much work this time of the year, especially since the river's pretty much frozen. However, we do always need help here at our complex. We never really have any help other than Deon, and our work demands a knack for tenacity. Of course, you might be able to talk to some of the shop owners down in the town and find some work there, but it's always up to you. If I may, how did you end up in a little town like this? It's pretty far off from any other places of interest, like up in Makoi."

Look around for a few more books about the main land. This place really is big. Maybe something more about the Juantine. And try to listen in on what people are whispering about... Speaking of, am I wearing my Aecrocian clothes still?
Cecil G. Palmer
You look yourself up and down. Yes, it appears that you are still wearing the clothes that you had from when you were still in Aecrocia. After you are sure of this, you skim through several books looking for more about the history of this place. What you can tell so far is that this continent has maintained itself in a massive coalition that falls under the flag of a group of new, liberal-thinking people called the Jaunatne. These Jaunatne have taken it up to themselves to create a new, combined military and defend themselves from the Theyin Empire. Anything between the two are left to be caught in the crossfire between the nations. As far as you can tell, there is no definite leader of the Jaunatne Coalition. Instead, it is meant to work as an autonomous entity governed by the people and only the people who live within it.
The oddity about the Jaunatne is that it seems to be taken in three different perspectives: it is, altogether, a military, political, and social entity. You can see different forms and shapes of the Delta Cross icon, even inside mundane things like the books that you are reading through. It seems odd that such an emphasis would be put on a group such as the Jaunatne.
You exit the Information Commons and look for a mode of transportation when you hear a voice behind you.
"Hello there! 'oo might you be?"

Diana nods "Very. I only been here for a day or two and that was unconscious so this is the first time I been 'at large' in this town."
Diana Crown
"That's a shame. But hey, you haven't missed out on much," she says with a joyful laugh. "Nah, the real deal's gonna be here in a week or so. How long ya plan on workin' here? If you wanna take on some more serious work, I can find something for you, but there's not much else to do other than the gathering for short-term work. Oh, and you might find something over at the Kito Complex. They always have some weird shenanigans going on over there."

"Oh, by the way, my name's Maggie. Nice to meet you. If you ever need some help on getting around this town, just call me. I've been gathering dust long enough to know who said what and who went where. That's pretty much my job now. Oh, and don't go prowling around at night. There's some nasty creatures that walk around at night." She chuckles and leans in closer.
"Oh yeah, the nasty buggers. Stay away from them and stay indoors. Nothin' good ever came out of them."

Author's Note: Not much to note about other than my business. I will probably be slower with my updates due to some work that I have undertaken, but the updates will come no less!
Also, expect new players to enter soon...
As always, have a good day/night,

Charge up the tunnel, with my golems right behind me. Confront the source of the light and noises.

Try to force myself into my stronger form using anger and fear. " I hate them. They won't hurt more... I'll call it absolute zero."
