Shrugging, Eh Ah raises his arms, palms open and turned toward the Theying patrol, and approaches.
"I say, excuse me, good sirs, but would you be open for a bit of conversation? I'm afraid I'm a little in the dark here, myself."
You approach the Imperial patrol, consisting of four soldiers, and ask them if they could answer some questions for you. One of them, who appears to hold seniority among them, walks towards you and observes your movements. You can't tell if he is being welcoming or passive-aggressive in this situation.
"Of course, sir. How may I help you?" He says in a low voice. The other soldiers with him keep nearby and search some of the buildings close to you. It does not seem that they are looking for anything in particular.

Diana take a relaxing breath "That good. How long was I out for, Miss Alex?"
She talks to you while preparing a green, grainy salve on the table to your right. During this, you try and take notice of any wounds that you have. It doesn't seem that you were hurt badly during your fight against those necrotic wolves; Just a few scratches and cuts here and there that have pretty much healed up at this point.
"I'd say about two days, maybe two and a half. You weren't hurt nearly as much as your friends were." She takes a small amount of the green salve and puts it on her fingertips. "Here, this should help you heal a bit faster." She applies the salve to your various small cuts that run up the side of your left arm and waist. After she is done, she takes some gauze-like material, forms it into a thin fabric, and wraps a part of your arm with it.
"Alright, that should keep you good for now. Do you have anywhere to stay? You must have been pretty lost to be all the way out there."

"I killed them. I killed them all. Can I do that again?"
Veida smiles innocently, entrancing you with her kind, deep eyes. "So eager to return to the fight. Do you know why that is, Alex?" She walks slowly in a circle around the table, tracing the edge of the table with her fingertip. "Willing to protect your culture, your family, even if it means taking the lives of people you never knew. Why is that? What drives you to protect the people that you think you love?" She looks up at you, clearly savoring the moment.
"Death is both a curse and a blessing. Humans fear what they cannot understand. This is why most humans fear death: they do not know what is to become of them post mortem. Yet you understand why death is necessary, do you not? You understand that in order for some people to live..." She holds her breath for a moment, several fireflies making their way between the two of you.
"Life needs death in order to keep the forward progress of humanity going. Death exists to facilitate time...
...Therefore, you exist to drive time forward. Yes, you will be able to kill once again. You will be handed the sword. The question is, what will you do with said sword? The choice is yours, my darling."
She hums a light tune and returns to her side of the table again.

"You see, sir, this whole island currently feels a tad rudderless. Is there a time estimate on when proper order will be established and rebuilding will begin? And is the Empress still present on the island? If you are not privy to that information or do not wish to give it, I apologize preemptively for asking."

[I've a note that Mastahcheese is having internet problems so I'll post for him too!]

From Here

Jack/Liri action: Talk

Cromwell Jackson
After Lirian spoke, Jack gave his own set of questions,
"How did you two become friends? Deon and the Doc sounds nice."

He wondered where the--his, kitten was.

Lirian
"I'd like to ask on that one package, sir. Esthenis? Why would it be easily transported...in that kind of form when there's a clear warning of its danger? What is your field of work and study and why is it very close to the village if it requires...those kinds of components?"

Pardon me. The update might take a day or two more since I have a big summer school test coming up and I can't spare much time here. Once this update comes though, I should have enough time to keep up the regular schedule I promised.
Thank you and have a good night/day,
Artemis.

TURN TWENTY: THE RUNIAN PROPHECY

Attempt to figure out where I am in relation to...anything. Climb a tree, that should help.
Warren Drake
You decide that the best course of action to take right now would be to find out where you are, first of all. You scurry up the side of the nearest tree, hop between the thin, rough branches, and  make it up near the top. Reaching the height of the marshy forest, you take in your surroundings and look for landmarks.
It appears that you are on the far side of the wetlands, near one of the mountainsides that makes up the arch leading into the mainland. In the distance in front of you, you can see the shoreline and the beach where you traveled from. Behind you, the mountainous arch towers over the entire wetland as a looming symbol of your entrance to a new world. Leading into the arch appears to be a river that flows from the delta you saw back at the shoreline. However, the river appears to be near frozen over - quite odd, considering the warmer temperatures that you were experience on Atis. Your guess is that Darzenis probably shipped you quite a far distance from your home island.

Looking up to the sky, you see that it is about midday now. Now that you've become acquainted with some of Darzenis' apparent friends, you think that you have a slight grip on the environment now. Yet, there is still so much that you do not know.
Only time will tell if there is any sense to be made of the world that has been built around you.

Try to extend my mind to the images on the wall, and sync with them to gain better understanding.
Rune
The entirety of this underground cavern is astoundingly large. In its own right, it is like a cathedral fit for the world's masses. It will take you a bit of time to hone your power enough to reveal the secrets of this library of cryptic messages from the past.
((Basically what I'm saying here that, due to the size of the place and your inexperience with this field of your power, it might take a few turns to uncover all of this information. Specifically, your action roles must add up to a total of 12 or more in order to decipher the total message.))
...And so we go.))
[2+2 (focus-domain bonus successful) = 4, 33% completed] The drawings on the walls tug at you, yearning to be deciphered. You know that they have some significance behind them, you just don't see what they can mean right now. You decided to resolve this by calling open your association with the mind. At the same time, you release your control over the golems. It's not like they're gonna be useful at reading these messages right now. You can hear the golems creaking to a stop above you, losing their lifelike characteristics and returning to giant pieces of baked clay. Now to turn your attention to the walls.
You spent a long time focusing your energy, trying to draw some sense by forming all of the drawings together, interpreting their meaning and trying to see if there are some clues that can be gathered by this.

You begin forming an image in your head, a sort of tȩx̡t̷ appear̢i҉n̡ģ ́in ́your̨ ͟min̷d's ͡eye. ...The message is not fully decoded. There is still more that you do not understand yet.

"What is there to do now?"
Alex Raman
She stops right in front of you with a small smile on her face.
"What is there to do now indeed, Alex Raman? I have given you the tools to make your own future. You have been given control over the domain of Death, channeled through the power of one of Nature's harshest elements. I do believe you know already what you possess."
She flicks one hand into the air, the fireflies dancing in a tornado around the two of you. The entire cavern is lit by a soft glow made by the fireflies.
"Find the truth, Alex. Face the other side of your world that you never knew about. The Shadow has finally manifested itself in your universe. It is your time to decide your own destiny. Take the truth about your world and decide your fate. It is the will of both mortals and gods."
The fireflies engulf you, becoming denser and denser, blocking your vision.
"You need not wait longer. With your awakening, the clock of time has moved its first hand. Now, you are a Guardian of all humanity.

Go."

The fireflies completely white your vision out. And then, nothingness.
You can feel the cold bite of winter on your back. The sting of light snow and water.
You are back in reality.

"You see, sir, this whole island currently feels a tad rudderless. Is there a time estimate on when proper order will be established and rebuilding will begin? And is the Empress still present on the island? If you are not privy to that information or do not wish to give it, I apologize preemptively for asking."
Eh Ah
The leader of the group raises an eyebrow to your questions.
"I assure you that our Empress has established a foundation for the Theyin government on the island. I am not able to say when we will begin rebuilding; However, we are providing strong support for Atis citizens. All that the Theyin Empire asks of you is that you respect our presence on the island and to stay out of the way of our operations."
He seems to have avoided talking about whether the Empress is actually on the island or not, though you suppose that it may just be for operational security.

As you are talking, you feel something like a quake vibrate the ground underneath you. It's nowhere near strong, but it is quite noticeable. The soldiers give a few short glances toward the southern part of the island, but otherwise pay not much attention to it.
"Any other questions, or may we continue on our way?" The group leader asks of you.

"As my last home was on a different land and being shelled when I left it, I'm going to say no, I lack a place to stay, miss."
She looks around, trying to think while humming. "Oh, hmm... I'm sure we can find somewhere for you to stay for a bit. I mean, this hospital is free most of the time. You could stay in one of the rooms for now." She washes off the remaining salve from her hand in a large bowl of water and dries her hands with a white towel.
"Well, you'll be fine. Nothing really hampering you from functioning like a normal person, so you're good to go. You're free to go around the town as you want. Enjoy your stay."

Lirian & Cromwell Jackson
Cromwell checks his bag and looks for his kitten. Yep, still there, lightly sleeping inside of the bag. He thinks to ask the kitten later about the Tilun stuff later, but for now the kitten probably should get his sleep.

"How did you two become friends? Deon and the Doc sounds nice," Cromwell asks the Doctor. Dr. Kito pauses and chuckles lightly, Cromwell having brought up some old and nice memories.

Oh, that was some time ago. Well, Deon actually attempted to break into my house here in order to steal some food. He tells me that he did this under the control of two kids who bullied for quite some time. So yes, my daughter caught him in the act and our town's council decided to have him work for me for a month or so, as a disciplinary action. I became acquainted with him and he even wanted to work with me after his month was over, so he works as my courier between the town and my complex." He exhales while cleaning his glasses and continues talking. "My daughter also keeps him company sometimes. He may not seem like it, but he's an outsider - doesn't have any friends other than the two of us. He's an orphan too, has no family to speak of."

"I'd like to ask on that one package, sir. Esthenis? Why would it be easily transported...in that kind of form when there's a clear warning of its danger? What is your field of work and study and why is it very close to the village if it requires...those kinds of components?"

He frowns while examining the odd container. Sighing, he begins to answer your question.
"I'm sorry, this is not normally supposed to be around in plain sight. I had Deon send it to our medical doctor's living house for some examination and peer confirmation, and then had him bring it back to me one she was done. I labeled and stored this at my lab, further back in the complex. Esthenis... well, it's an ancient drug that has highly addictive qualities. I won't go into much detail about it but, at a time, it played a hand in causing one of the largest wars and a near-genocide some hundred years ago. We eradicated it in the wild about seventy years ago, but this sample was retrieved from an unconscious wanderer near the shore."
He puts the box between his arm and his body, putting his glasses farther up his nose.

"Erm, I'm sorry for this, but you don't appear to come from this area. Might you know where that fellow in the wild gathered this sample of Esthenis from? It might help me in my work here. Speaking of that, I do officially work as a botanist, but I serve a multitude of purposes for the internal security network of Jaunatne. Most of the time it's mundane business, but I do believe that I have a duty to fulfill here."

I'm... Uh, I'm Cecil, He says, blinking rapidly, Perith? I'm from uh, Atis, and we were attacked by someone. And I'd just like to rest. How long has it been?
He shuffles around to your side, taking a look at your back. For you, it hurts strongly to sit up, even just a bit. "Ah, hello Cecil. You were unconscious for about two days and a half. You do indeed seem to be hurting, but it shouldn't be anything permanent. We'll get you treated while you are here. Do you have any other questions for me at this time? I know that you might be a little disoriented, so allow me to help in any way."

You can hear some voices in the back of your head, slowly fading away. That's right, you remember, that Theyin girl talked to you for a little bit and then everything went black. Your vision seems to be a little blurry right now, but you can hear the doctor just fine. Your thought processes seem to be scrambled a little bit, but you should be fine soon.

"No, sir. Keep up the good work," Eh Ah says with maximum sincerity.

Take a walk on the island. Watch the surroundings. Get a feel for the mood of the place and the general state of settlement. Look out for larger clusters of refugees and Empire outposts.

"Great. I'm a lizard, alone on a strange island, which is cold, and I'm a lizard, which doesn't like cold. What's next? A--I probably shouldn't say that."

Head for the beach for now.

You were planning to have a 15 year old magical girl kill Witches by drinking them under the table!? It's original, at least.
