Stay lying down, get comfy. Try to listen to the voices more clearly. They're there, I know I can hear them.

More fire and lava! It's... kinda hard to fight someone who isn't fighting back.

TURN SIXTEEN: WHO WHAT WHEN WHERE WHY HOW?

"Woooeeee!" Diana cries with girly glee "That was awesome! I wonder if I can do that again?"
Pull on the same feeling, but lesser since there no targets
Then seek help with bleeding cheek.

Diana Crown
You hop around like a little schoolgirl, the adrenaline still flowing within you. Actually, you think it still might be a little more than adrenaline - after all, where did the power to summon lightning come from?
Whatever, it's still cool! You raise one of your hands toward the sky again to see if you can bring forth that same feeling again, and you feel the same tingly feeling racing up your arm. You look around and find that both the guard and your brother are not in the vicinity anymore. Oh well. You bring your arm down again and a refreshing bolt of lightning strikes the ground in front of you. It's an electric strike that feels as if it charges your spirit completely.
After you get off of this electric high, which takes a couple minutes, you look around for your brother and the guard. They're not around your area anymore. Where did they go?

Um...great.
Order the iguanas to stay here and protect him. Try to find the other guy.
Warren Drake
Unsure of where that hobo wandered off now, you order the iguanas to stay with Cecil as he has his headaches. Unfortunately, the iguanas only stare at you, confused, and do not follow your orders. Well, it's good enough that they are watching over him for now - unless, of course, the iguanas decide that something else is more interesting, like the rising sun. Oh well, nothing much you can do that you haven't done already.
You go in search of the hobo. You spend a good while looking around the wetlands for your hobo acquaintance, but you can't find him. The only thing you hear is.. the sound of lightning striking. Once, twice - but there aren't many clouds in the sky, except for a circling group of clouds above the point where the lightning struck. You don't believe that's natural. What is going on?

"Huh."
Outstretch my hand again. Try to will the woman into an even better state. If that doesn't work, try to channel an emotion of some kind toward her. It doesn't matter what emotion.
Eh Ah
You're glad that the woman seems to be doing better, but you're not done yet. You outstretch your arm again and touch her shoulder gently, focusing your mind and relaxing your breath to try and draw that same energy out again. You feel the blue glow flowing through you again, even though it shouldn't be possible to feel a glow. Yet, it happens. The energy flows through your arm once again and enters her shoulder, spreading out to her entire being. You can see her relax and her breathing steady as the blue magic does its work to somehow relieve her symptoms. You're not sure if the source of the symptoms is gone, but this is the best you can hope for now. You swear that you can even see her face rejuvenate a little, the skin around her eyes looking much less tired and the wear on her hands draining away. You're relieved that she seems to be okay now, but she still as two kids with her who can't fend for themselves yet. She's still asleep and that lava seems to be slowly crawling its way towards the shoreline, and you are in the way.
Why are you the one burdened with the job of caretaker professional?

"Hey! Stop with that lava while I get back to what I'm doing!" Keep killing those filthy invaders
You offer a few words of warning to the other guy floating in the sky near you. Hey, if he's not attacking you, he's probably gonna be cool with you, right? I mean, no harm can come to you, since you are a being of pure energy right now. Yeah, there's probably no way that he can inflict harm on you.
Enough with the sarcasm, though. Let's get back to the vengeance part. Despite your slight setback with the diminishing of your ice supply on the shore, you freeze more of the water away from the shore and spin more ice around you, letting it gain velocity and hurling the large spikes of ice towards the ships. It's like you're a human railgun, and the ice spikes are your projectiles. You easily tear apart the rest of the ships, leaving no survivors as far as you can see. However, you do know that there are still troops from the enemy invaders down on the island. It's your choice whether or not you want to go after them too.

Despite your warning, the other guy and his lava are still melting down your ice barrier around the island. The ice has pretty much melted - at least, most of the ice that was near the island itself. You still have a large amount of ice at your disposal far from the island, but you can't touch the island right now. It would seem that the lava guy has control of the island, for now.

First, grab my pick. Then, order the most durable looking of my golems to the front of the cave- have him grab me, then make a desperate run away from the lava. Have the other golems follow directly behind. Once safe, count how many golems I have, and give the pick to the first golem I created. Tell him to start mining for supplies and stone. Then climb a tree and survey the area.
Spoiler: Rolls (click to show/hide)
Rune
No regrets now. You command one of your strongest golems to hoist you up on his shoulders and order him to hightail it out of there, along with the other golems. Due to the movement being a relatively minor job, you don't have to focus much on the other golems with your mind activity.
As your golem bursts out of the rock door, you look up and find some bad news: the lava is now cascading over the rock overlook and is heading towards you. You take control of the golem and focus your mind on getting him to run as fast as possible. Due to being a creation made entirely of baked clay, he can't run that fast, but you managed to outrun the lava.
And now you have to worry about the fire. While you duck and try to make yourself small, your luck runs short and some of the fire from nearby trees manages to catch on to your person.

You are now on !!!fire!!!.
Yeah, you might want to take care of that while your golem is trudging down the mountainside.

Wander further away. Try to find anything that would point to life once again.
Jorji Constanza
You wander for what seems like a very good while. The sun is now clearly present in the sky, though still hanging low. You take a whiff of the plant in your bag every now and again, as it has a rather fulfilling smell that takes your mind off of the hunger for a bit every time. As you walk on, however, not even the plant can mask your hunger and thirst. You've been walking around for a good amount of time now and you still have not found any human life. You have wandered past small animals, however, so that's a good sign that you're still not in limbo yet. It looks like you're somewhere in the middle of a valley, following alongside a frozen river.
You take a moment to stop and rest, wondering why you didn't think to bring extra food along from the camp. No matter, now's a good time to learn how to hunt and forage, right?
And you still have that plant that you took along with you... you could try nibbling on some of that.

Stay lying down, get comfy. Try to listen to the voices more clearly. They're there, I know I can hear them.
Cecil G. Palmer
You stay down with the iguanas keeping company. Now that they aren't biting at you and being extremely annoying, they're okay company. The newcomer Atisi guy has ditched you, however, so that turns out to be a downside.
You listen intently for the voices, but it comes out in a scramble of white noise. You can get a bit of conversation here and there, but most of it is garbled, as if their mind antennas are not transmitting properly anymore.
"....
...jmkrj"dmalf. Liri... fitjammedktmnaium...
contact.... jajmgh pirqurlks, ... adjncgf..
tjtmw guardia- ..."

"jrmrmraspo Cro-m.. gfniasdj...
gnjgiajsgmnh Teos... gjhroxz ...
.....
..."

The radio noise continues. You could try to listen even more for the voices again, maybe the signal will clear up this time.

"Hey, look! Some houses, we found people!"
Cromwell Jackson & Lirian [autoaction]
Finally, you have found a sign of civilization, other than that small dingy shack that you roomed in for a small while. After a short while of deliberation, you and Lirian decide it would be best to enter this new area quietly. You're not sure if the people who live here would be either hostile or friendly towards the two of you, plus your kitten companion. However, the kitten did tell you to follow into the tunnel, and you did find a civilized settlement, so you guess that you can trust the kitten.
The both of you display an astonishing lack of stealth as you make crunchy footsteps through the little forest outcrop surrounding the whole settlement. It doesn't help that you trip and fall down the hill a little bit. On the other side of the hill, you find that the houses look small but decent and much more comfortable than the shack.
For a reference point, the village looks kind of like Poombarai Village, but with a colder climate, small amounts of snow, and a frozen river running through it, along with a forest surrounding the village. Other than that, it looks pretty similar to Poombarai, so that would be a good reference to the look of the village.
You manage to stumble down the hill a little bit more. Only now have you finally noticed that you were trekking through the cold, without a coat, and nothing to drink. Wait, we already waved that drink problem away last time.. oh well. You're still exhausted, and you and Lirian take refuge in a small one-room house at the edge of the village. It's not much better than the shack you were in, but it's still a place to stay that has no one inside. There is a mattress near the door, a window-less window frame, a rather nice wooden table with three folding chairs, a small kitchen area, and a few books piled up on the kitchen counter.

You barely begin to make yourself comfortable before you hear a light voice outside the door.
"W-who's in there? Show yourself, now!"

More fire and lava! It's... kinda hard to fight someone who isn't fighting back.
You summon forth more lava from the depths of the volcano. Again, it's not much at this point, but you can make do. You have plenty of lava on the ground already, so there's no need to worry. Oh, and you're in pretty good supply of the fire, considering that the fire is supplementing itself with the forest and other vegetation around the island of Atis. So far, so good. You can literally see the chaos rising up from the Aecrocia, Magis, and the Atisi settlements. It looks like a cloud of purple fog, streaming up into the air. It is a visual depiction of the fear and the chaos that has been spreaad throughout the settlements with the eruption of the volcano - and it's only serving to fuel your power even more. At this rate, there's no stopping you and your reign/rain of lava and fire.
You coax the fire and lava forward, spreading out to the shoreline. It steams on contact with the water and begins to melt even more of the ice. By this point, you've melted a pretty large part of the ice barrier that was forming on the shore apart, so you don't need to worry about that for now. The lava has now made its way into the Aecrocian city and is slowly eating away at the buildings. You're satisfied to see that some of the skyscrapers are already having their foundations melted apart, with some of them beginning to tilt.
There is not much else that can be done by the people below. Your power is at its climax at this point, so you're pretty much free to do what you will with the island. The lava has just made contact with the settlements. It is your choice to wipe out everything below, or reign the lava in now.

Or is Chaos really your choice? That is for you to decide.

Author's Note: Mmm, lava. Tasty. Can I get a side of thirsty exiles with that?
Again, this is leading up to more in the future. I think I'll even end the chapter soon and introduce an intermission where I will explain some more mechanics.
Thank you and have a good day,
Artemis.

Maybe there tracks or something to follow them. If not, head back to the camp since they will go there eventually.

"Hm... well, I do have children here."

Eh Ah turns to the kids.

"Say, children, help me carry your mother out of here. She seems to be okay, but we should be getting out of the way, I think."

Enlist the aid of children in carrying the mother out of the house and into someplace more out of the way of the lava. Be insistent that they help. If they still do not, see if I can somehow... manipulate them with my powers. Like I seem to have done previously with both the Empress and the officer.

Warren considers his options. In the end, he takes a stick, sketches some symbols in the sand, and tosses it in the air. The smaller end is pointing more or less at the lightning symbol.
He sighs, and heads off towards the sound of thunder.

Investigate anomalous lightning thing.
