"Well, um, do you mind giving me a primer on what I can do and how to make it happen?"
She raises her eyebrows to your question.
"I wasn't expecting you to skip over the exposition, but whatever." She shrugs while saying this, and starts walking around in a lazy circle, flicking one hand up gently. In the air directly above the two of you is a slowly spinning circle of holographic symbols - eleven of them in total. Ten of the lie in the outer portion of the circle, and are made up of different colors - red, yellow, green, blue, white, teal, maroon, amber, and so on. The eleventh symbol - a lavender, hollow circle - floats in the center of the circle. Danielle points up to the spinning circle of odd symbols.
"This was one of the two goals of the generations of Mediums and Guardians before you. This is the Unification path. If you chose to do this, you would have to convince all of the Guardians to come together and fight under your flag against whomever the Catalyst of this world is. This is harder to do than it looks, considering that half of the Guardians are polar opposites of the other half." She raises both arms again and balls her hands into fists. The ten symbols circling the lavender one all vaporize, transforming the lavender circle into a larger version with a rainbow of colors fading in and out of it.
"The other main path is Destruction. With this... you must kill all of the other Guardians or have all of the Guardians kill each other, taking their power for yourself. Enough power to challenge the Catalyst on your own. Of course, this is also difficult, considering that you're fighting against ten others who are possibly more powerful than you." She gestures around in the air, forming the ten symbols again along with the lavender one. This time, however, the symbols float freely, some crashing into the other symbols and creating sparks of light.
"Of course, you could also kill only some of the Guardians and unify some of the others. This has been done before, but it's more chaotic than simple Destruction or Unification." Finally, she brings her hands down, completely dissipating all of the floating symbols.
Danielle looks towards you again and sighs.
"Assuming whoever runs this game hasn't changed the rules, that's what you're aiming for. But in the short term, I'd recommend you stay alive... and find other people. Believe me, opportunities will come. The magical deity who hosts these Mediums makes sure of that. I will help you in controlling the Medium, but for now, you must find out what your powers as a Guardian are. Though, considering that I am here, the rules may very well have been replaced completely." She says this with a hint of curiosity in her voice, as if she is contemplating this herself.
