TURN EIGHTEEN: WOW THIS CHAPTER IS LONG(ER?)
I want to get to the next chapter, but I can't do that until we finish some encounters here... ah well.
Rune thought to himself "Hmmm, I have an idea...."
Attempt to use sheer power of will and focus to control the clay left behind in the cave- have it mold itself into the shapes of golems, and then have them join me. Then go to the nearest populated city and help in the evacuation. Have my golems help to evacuate too. After finished, attempt to use my focus to telekinetically force a message into the minds of both creatures controlling the ice and lava. "Stop." Using the power of sheer focus alone, try to dominate their minds and force them to stop.
Rune((I will put your roll log tomorrow because I am too tired to honestly put any logical information down at the moment.))
Well, it is certainly worth a try to mold the clay with only your willpower and your mind. If you can manipulate the movements of inanimate objects with your mind, why not try it again at a greater distance?
Unfortunately, that is not how your powers really work (at least, not at this point) and you don't receive any mind signals hinting that you've made any connection to the clay in the cave. Perhaps if you practiced a bit more later on, you might be able to do this sort of thing later.
((Essentially, you haven't been using your powers for too long, so you also will not have THAT much prowess, at least not yet.))
You try to guide your golems in the direction of the nearest settlement - which would be the Magis Kingdom at this point - but you are halted by the presence of flowing lava and an ice barrier around the ocean. It doesn't look like you can go much further in this direction, so you turn around to try and see what you can accomplish in some other settlement further down the island.
Sending a telepathic message is relatively easy for you at this point (compared to controlling a squad of golems), especially since it's only a one-word message to both of the sky freaks up there. However, you don't believe that the message alone would be enough to halt their rampage. so you attempt to mindjack the both of them in order to will them to stop fighting.
You turn out failing in this regard. Whatever signal you sent was stupidly weak and you don't think that they even noticed your attempt to force their hands. They continue summoning the elements around the island and using said elements to wreak havoc on the island and each other.
Search the home - loot any medical supplies and other such things. Obtain a kitchen knife, if possible, check the place for blankets, sheets, that sort of thing. Do an inventory of the available things, and also be aware of danger in the area, such as the ice and the lava.
Eh AhYou search various containers, cupboards, and drawers scattered throughout the house and look for anything that might be of help to you in an emergency: blankets, medical supplies, knives, et cetera. Here is a quick overview of what you have found:
- Two boxes of band-aids containing 8 band-aids each
- One bottle of rubbing alcohol
- Nondescript bottle of drinking alcohol
- Two light blankets
- Dinner-utensil knife[/i]
The kids wait in the living room near the front door while you look around the house for these items. You've pretty much searched most of the house, but you can either spend another turn looking for more stuff, do something else around the house, wait or sleep, or exit the house.
You're getting a bit tired at this point and a little hungry, too, but the screeching noise of the winds and flying projectiles high in the sky keep your attention away from your slight fatigue. Well, that and the older kid's incessant humming of a somewhat familiar kid's tune.
"Dah nah nah, nah no nah nah, dah nah nah dah nah nah..."It does get on your nerves after a while, but you can't blame him for not understanding the severity of the situation. Or maybe you can?
Keep attacking him until he surrenders, is knocked unconscious, or dies
Do the same to my opponent! Except, you know, with fire and lava and junk.
ALEX RAMAN v. UNKNOWN((Just a reminder that the less detail you put into your attack desires, the more freedom that gives me to essentially randomize the attacks...))

Unknown sends out a few globs of lava to meet the ice spike and evaporate it; however, the ice spike is going at such a velocity that it barely makes it through the lava and sticks Unknown through the right shoulder region, letting even more of Unknown's blood flow. Unknown is now thoroughly ticked off, especially since his arm is somewhat painful to move now.
Rune takes this opportunity to send a moment of interruption tearing through Alex's and Unknown's fight, with a single word:
"Stop!"Both Alex and Unknown stop their fight and hesitate to look around and see where that noise in their heads came from. Unable to find the source, Unknown seizes the opportunity and [2x

Counterattack rolls are vanilla 1d6, nothing special.))
Cecil sighs. Everyone always runs off, he thinks to himself.
Be patient and wait for someone to come back.
Cecil G. PalmerTired after your little brain scramble, you lie down on the wet grass and get comfortable, waiting for the others to return. You feel like thirty minutes, then an hour passes. Two hours. No one is back yet. Why is that? They couldn't have gone that far from the camp; you still have all of the food supplies back in the boat, and they should know that... so why would they be gone for so long?
One thing you do notice is the darkness of the sky, and the eerie silence. It's like someone dimmed the mood lights in the sky, and now the life of the wetlands suddenly... died.
And then there's the voice. It doesn't come from any particular place: it just seems like it is..
there. And it sounds malefic, as if it would kill you if it wanted to.
Worst of it, it sounds familiar. As if you know it, even though it is dark and violent.
"Why, hello there... it's such a pleasure to meet one of my subjects.
"Hello, Cecil."
Diana raises an eyebrow "Not really. I'll admit that places with a lot of death are creepy, but that seem more like an echo created by the sorrows of the dying, otherwise, why would any human soul hang around a place for all enturnity unless it was unable to change?"
Diana CrownYou can see a figure forming in the distance now. It looks like a young woman, though you can't exactly make out who she is at this point. This... figure... giggles in a high tone, leaving you a bit uncomfortable.
"Oh, you think they hang around for all eternity? Hmhmhm! You still have so much to learn... well then, let's get some practice in, shall we? I'd like to see what you have learned so far, at least... if you've learned anything!"The darkness retreats slightly in order to show four large wolves emerging from the shadows. They all have slick, black fur and dead eyes, almost as if they were the reanimated dead - without the rotting skin, though. The four of them move in unison to flank you, growling and barking at you. You take up a defensive stance, keeping your eyes on all of the wolves at the same time.
"Come on, girl... show me that you can fight!"The wolves begin closing in on you, growling even louder now. You can hear something like a faint whine in your ears, kind of like if you were going deaf, though you don't think you're losing your hearing just yet.
Oh no, you can hear these wolves and the woman just fine, and both entities seem hostile at the moment.
"So, you're...me?"
"Oh, very good guess! But.. not yet. He will fight at another time... another place... against you.
But I? No, I... well.. let's leave that up to the iguanas to decide, shall we? I believe they took a liking to you at one point, but it seems they have... changed their minds, hmhmhm."Six iguanas, about fifteen times the size of the original iguanas you befriended, stalk up to you from the wetlands. If you back up in one direction, they appear and block you from the other. All of them look slimy and greasy, with black holes for eyes. It's like they are not even living, yet they are here, hissing at you. Another odd thing is that they all seem to have developed long, sharp teeth and claws. Very odd considering the iguanas you knew last.
"Guardian of Life... let's begin our show, shall we? Make me proud, Warren... make me proud."The air twists and turns with a black fog, closing in as the iguanas close in themselves.
You have access to the surrounding areas and you can see the wetlands, but everything is pretty darkened and making precise movements will be hard.
Cromwell looked over at Lirian.
"We should go and help that guy."
Head out the window, and over to the kid, and help him up.
Lirian
"After they leave," Lirian replied, narrowing her eyes as she watched the two..."children" move off. She weighed the possibilities of helping, and not helping, but was more spurred on as that...that scene. It poked her hard and brought back feelings which she'd rather not live through again.
"Alright, let's move. Get him in here, nurse him back to health. We can't stay here though, we're only on a trip--to where, I'm unsure, but that's for later."
Hooligans indeed. Being a rat is a hypocritical idea. If I ever see those two again...
Agree. Aid. Examine the area for any onlookers before approaching and where the two who attacked him are heading--and any signs of their clothing. Compare to own clothing and see if we blend in perfectly with the populace and/or look any different.
The both of you agree to help that kid out, moving lightly and quietly in order to not bother the surrounding community. As for your clothing, Lirian is currently wearing a plain white shirt under an incredibly light jacket - so light, that it is really more of a long-sleeved overshirt than a jacket. Cromwell is wearing a dress shirt with a white t-shirt underneath, along with a tie tucked into his carrying bag. Both of your clothes are somewhat dirty, but not enough to make you look homeless or something of that sort.
You waste no time in carefully bringing the kid back into the house that you currently occupy. Although he took a couple of bad hits from the teenagers, it seems he was badly injured anyways. He has cuts and gashes on both of his arms and he is bruised all over. As for his age, he looks to be somewhere around twelve, maybe thirteen. He is bleeding from a couple of cuts, but other than bandaging him up, there is not much you can do than letting his body take over the natural healing processes. Cromwell decides to stick around in the house to be there when he wakes up, while Lirian scouts out the surrounding area for any useful information.
Lirian finds, by stealthily watching the small streets within the town/village hybrid, that most of the people in this village wear pretty casual clothing, consisting of mainly t-shirts, vests and long-sleeved shirts (similar to Lirian's), skirts, shorts, and light pants. Overall, it is a mix of light, temperate-climate-enabled clothing similar to the both of yours, so there should not be a major problem in fitting in here. Oddly enough, you don't see the two boys who assaulted the one smaller boy earlier. Having spent enough time surveying the village, you head back to the house that both Cromwell and the boy are in.
Back at the house, the both of you wait about fifteen minutes more before the boy wakes up. He is perturbed by your presence and, backpedals into the corner with a heightened breath. He even seems to be on the verge of tears now.
"A-are you going to hurt me again? Please... please don't hurt me! I di-n't do nothing, I swear! Just... just leave me alone!" He is about on the point of crying, even though neither one of you is making a particularly threatening pose.
Outside, there doesn't seem to be too much commotion. This seems to be merely the waking hours of the village/town, so you should be safe for the next thirty minutes or so. As for the village's makeup, it seems to be an odd combination of modern and old wooden structures, although it all seems very clean. It's only the morning hours, but you can already feel that this village is alive in some way. It's a shame that you had to witness that assault in your entrance to the town, however.
