Pink I showing on both Region and Local??

Just created a new world, and upon choosing an embark location i noticed a pink I on a single tile on both the region and local screens.

I'm aware that pink is evil, but, what does is the abbreviated word for this I???

The pink 'I' is a unique trading partner - holders of ancient wisdom will come to visit you, oftentimes before the first Dwarven caravan even arrives.  Often, they will bring friends, to come and show you the secrets of life and death - as well as to hug all of your dorfs.

As stated above, unique trade partner. I stays for wIsdom, actually.

They provide unique experience every game, regulary bringing unique artifacts with themselves, the books of, well, the books.

it should show "Tower" in trade partners screen for them to be able to get to you.

They are alchemists and pay very well for body parts, so be sure to have plenty by hunting and put refuse and corpse stockpiles near your depot for effiency.

Ok... joke done, now to be helpful.
Stay away from the purple 'I'. Its a necromancer tower, the necros will siege you with zombies and will raise anything that gets killed, including defeated zombies, your dwarves, and animals.
if you want to take the challenge, go vegan, and try a military with blunt weapons and blunt traps. if you place some cage traps you may cage a necro if you are really lucky. don't use edge weapons as that makes the body parts multiply and they can be raised individually (you don't want an army of severed hands against you)

Vegan fortress near a tower* (or anywhere for that matter)? Pfft. I have a tower nearby, and the elves bring me giant tigers. It'd be irresponsible to let that go to waste.

*The I is a vague visual representation of a tower, in much the same way as a [cabinet] is a vague visual reprentation of a goblin fortress. But unlike a tower, it doesn't really matter how close a goblin fortress is. They're willing to walk across the whole world to reach you.

Naw! It'll probably wind up like that guy who was told "Go ahead, pull the candy sword out of the big top!" That started all curses and anger and ended up being pretty badass.
